Hi to all
I'm new to airguns (3 months) and only have limited experience with airguns...I chronied 3 guns this morrning all with superdomes
Powerline avg. 940 (I know the PL has power)
Gamo Shadow avg. 850
RWS 94 avg. 970...Is this possible?
I want a better grade gun then what I had so I bought the 94,(limited funds)but I wasn't expecting a 970fps with super domes.
Muzzle to chrony 46inches. 10 shot groups...
I'm very happy if this is common.

Also what's the differance between the 93 and 94?
smaller spring? maybe no tophat in the 93?
Thanks
Bart

It's one of the very few 1000 FPS AGs that actually shoot 1000 FPS

It's just the way they made the gun..
Mine pumps out the heavies! 16.89 FPE CPHs @ 851.4 fps.

They say the spring gets tired after a few tins
and the power drops off 5 or 6 percent.

What is the cocking effort of RWS Mod. 94 ?

July 8 2006, 2:33 AM

Has someone any idea what it's like to cock the RWS 94? Forty pounds, more or less? I have shot the RWS 350 Magnum a bit and I got exhausted! Is the 94 at par w/the 350 in cocking effort?

TIA,
Nikos

The barrel so long, it's not real hard to cock

My guess is 30 to 35 pounds. I'm 60 years old and find it pretty easy to cock.
I was thinking about sawing about 3 or 4 inches off the barrel,
so I tried cocking it down lower on the barrel.
It was harder, but not so hard that it would stop me from putting it on the saw..

Rich

Enjoy

Rich,

Many thanks for that. I am not a "big guy", so I have to take certain precautions re air rifle cocking effort. Also, I want to keep all my air rifles usable by my nieces and my friend's children when they come over for a visit and some air rifle fun

Cheers,
Nikos

It might be a little unsafe

July 9 2006, 6:34 AM

if the child is not able to curl a 30 pound dumbbell lefthanded..

If the barrel slips out of their hand and whips back, it could
really hurt their head..

Also, the rule for cocking a springer requires you to hold on
to the barrel, in case it 'fires' while you are loading a pellet..

I would be very leary about allowing anyone who is not
fully on-the-ball and strong enough, shoot anything but
my (very) low powered springers.. (Not the 94)..

Cheers,
Rich

Yes, of course

Rich,

Yes, by all means. Mind you that I only have the 25, 25D, 27, 35 and 60 Diana Models. They are very easy to cock and apart from the 35 and 60, they are rather lightweight. I never had any of them discharge during cocking, though, so there is no need to worry. I service all of them at home (except for the Model 60 that needs no servicing), so I know them inside-out; better than the back of my hand

Cheers,
Nikos
