Hi,

I am relatively new here. About 2 months ago, my hobby buddy mentioned that he had bought a BB gun and that he and his son had been enjoying shooting it. He told me about adult airgunning and suggested a couple of sites to look at.

A week or so later, I bought a 2240 from Compasseco. I then proceeded to add a 14" barrel, a CB breech, a T Cooper bulk kit, a BSA red dot, and so on.

I was enjoying this pistol well enough when I found a used RWS model 48 which looked lonely in a local pawn shop. I rescued it as anyone here would do.

OH MY LORD IN HEAVEN!!!!

The last thing that I was this obsessed with was radio controlled helicopters about 5 years ago. I still love the 2240 but the feel, power, and accuracy of the 48 is drug like. I went thru a tin of pellets yesterday afternoon and another one this morning.

Are there meetings for this?

Steve in TN

the next thing that may happen is air gunning infecting your dreams, that is followed by mentioning it to every man women and child that you meet hoping someone will offer up some some old break barrel thats rusting away in a closet, mostly people just back away quietly while your getting into the details of fps vrs energy down range.........welcome to my world.........

Sorry...you're a goner

Soon you will discover old springer target rifles, the greatest airguns of all time. Take everything you like about the 48, but take away the recoil (or at least most of it), and add world-class trigger action, same-hole accuracy, much lighter weight, stunning wood, and breathtaking quality of materials and finish. Then they will have to fit you for a straitjacket, and bring you over to my asylum.

BTW where in Tennessee are you? I'm in Knoxville.

Just to give you something to think about...a stunning collection of Weihrauch HW 55's belonging to a friend of mine:

I am in the Nashville area but I get over to Knoxville on a regular basis. Maybe we could hook up sometime.

Hooked?

Steve,

You'll really enjoy this hobby I'll bet. The airguns are neat, and the folks who follow them are even neater.
