Today I was measuring the velocities of my HW77K. I do this by holding the Combro in my hand, attached to the muzzle and then firing. Some people tape the Combro to the barrel, but I hold it in my hand, thusfar the results have always been good.
After the HW77K I took the 350.
Energy readings were extremely erratic, from 7 fpe up to 19 fpe.
Is this caused by the harsh recoil of the gun ? The highest readings were some 19 fpe. If these were correct readings, they are low for a .22 350 model I guess... (gun is new from last week and has shot some 400 pellets).
Or is it all caused by the jumping of the gun.
as can fluerescent lighting .I wouldn't worry about it ..its still not broken in . It will pick up some speed as it breaks in ..reaching 22/23fpe depending on pellet used .
The Combro works best with virtually rimfires or PCP airguns

Joris,
It is the recoil. The Combro, I think, was destined for use with a PCP or a rimfire, where recoil is negligible. The Chrony 100 seems to be suitable for springers as an all-around instrument for velocity readings.
I got the mk4 and use it on my RWS-54 and Condor with no problems, you just need to insure it is secured properly and the two sensors aligned. I personally use that elastic string to tie plants up with…does what it should for me.
