Nikos,

It is interesting that you broke a Leupold in a MACCARI TUNED Diana 25 !!!; because it should shoot very smooth. Mr Maccari told me that perhaps most of my problems with scopes are airguns with problems ( dieseling, etc), but anyway I think that have a surviving scope in a big springer for a long time is always a challenge.

Isnīt is the Diana 25 too small for A .22 CALIBER ?. Which is the Diana 60 and the Gamo 2100 expo ?

Best wishes, Teotimo

Teotimo,

The Model-25 is an ideal candidate for the .22 caliber!

I have a .22 Hy-Score 801 which is a 25 variant and simply love it! Many other shooters and some Forum members here also have em and share the contentment!

The M-25 in .22 shoots around 450-500fps and has the capibility to hunt at close range with for small game and vermin. The 30 yard accuracy is plenty good enough for pest birds, and the rifle has enough power for 20 yard small game up to rabbit size.

I really like to just plink with my 25. It cocks super easilly, the power is good and the trajectory very predictable. Mine likes the RWS Hobby best, the Crosman W/C, Points, Benjamin Domes, and the Daisy/Gamo W/C's. It actually does not turn it's nose up at any ammo, but light and mid-weight pellets do best.

If you are considering one, you will not be dissapointed!

Diana 25, 60 and Gamo 2100 EXPO

July 15 2006, 12:52 AM

Teo,

The problem was caused by a faulty leather seal on my vintage 25. The seal screw was stuck and it was impossible to remove the cracked leather and washer. I found out after cracking the EFR for the second time, unfortunately. Finally I managed to get hold of a spare 25 piston with a new seal attached, which solved the EFR blues for good. Now the EFR lives on the more powerful Mod. 27 fitted with a Maccari Global Tarantula XL mainspring. I am still breaking it in but the EFR is happy. No issues, as the 27 has a new seal and is getting smoother by the minute. It is more powerful than my Diana 35, but not as accurate (yet).

The Diana Mod. 60 (.177 cal. only) is a dedicated 10m recoiless springer, with a barrel sleeve-weight, swollen palm grip, perfect chequering and is a single-holer at 10m (from a rest) all day long with diopter sights. With a scope it is a single holer at 35m, easily (also from a rest). It is the only airgun I have that I can shoot from a rest, as its recoiless system allows it; there is no jump and it is totally silent. (I only wished I knew how to post pictures here; I can send pictures via email, if you are interested).

The Gamo 2100 EXPO (.177 cal.) is a sweet little number. I removed its powerful mainspring and intalled a suitable replacement, which has made it an instant success with my nieces! It is so smooth and easy to cock, that it is unbelievable. It is easier to cock-and-shoot than the Diana 25! It has a Walther Top-Point II Red Dot sight and works like a charm. (Again I can send you a picture via email, if you wish).

Best regards,
Nikos
