You're right.
.. I was being a bit "unkind" to HW.
I was a bit upset due to the fact that when I first chrony'd the
77 with 16 grain "exacts", I got an average of 630.8 fps. which seemed a long way short of their 750 fps. claim.
I got 1011 fps. (.177) average with my Diana 48, which seemed pretty close to their claim of 1056 fps.
..although today the Diana averaged 955 fps. - same ammo, same set-up etc. etc. - change in humidity?
.. The Hw 77 after I got it sighted in - the first 5-shot group @ 12 yds. was .280" - the second group was .240"
.. and is very consistant.
I have no complaints, - this is with a scope, 'cause my eyesight is such now, that I couldn't hit my back fence with any sort of iron-sights.
I remember when I did a .75" - 5-shot group at 300 yds. with a .270 Winchester - peep sights -- those days are gone forever.

..I had
eyes then.
..
..and I agree, it's the hitting power ( energy ) on target that counts.
..and without having any stats. - I'm sure at 100 feet.. my .22 HW 77 is going to hit a lot harder than the Diana 48 in .177 .
Am I correct about that, ? or not ?
.. Best group with the Diana so far, is a 10-shot effort, measures .203" - like that one.
