Greetings all!
I'm not in a good mood. Just received my first, possibly last, Diana 75. It won't push a pellet out of the bore. Appears to have small, brownish pieces of material coming out of the transfer port. I'm aware of the early piston seal problems. Question: when cocking, it goes click, click, click, click, click...all the way to fully cocked. Never touched one of these before. Does the clicking noise indicate a problem besides the piston seal, or is that normal for this action? Mr Bimrose still work on the 75? Current contact info? Other suggestions? Haven't contacted the seller, yet. Trying to get a good idea of what I'm up against before that. It looks great on the outside, if I can get it repaired for around $200, I'd probably go that route. But, that would put my total invested a bit over $600. Grrrrrr! And, thanks, much appreciated.

M75 repairs

August 9 2006, 6:16 PM

Just had my 21 year old M75 TO1 rebulit by UMAREX USA in Ft Smith, AR for $105 including return shipping. It displayed the same symptoms as your gun and now shoots same one hole targets as new. See repair info at http://www.airgunexpress.com/Accessories/RWS/rwsserviceform.htm

Diana 75

Knobs, haven't heard back from him, yet. I'm guessing he'd take it back. I'd also guess I'd be out the $40 shipping both ways. I'm a bit spoiled. I've had over six hundred internet transactions in the past eight years. Most of which were firearms & frequently much more money than this. This is the very first time I've ever received something broken, that wasn't represented as such up front.
Rich, you give me hope! I've wanted a 75 since the early '80s. I'm not giving up easy. What was the turn around time for yours? I'll be calling Umarex in the morning. Heck, they're less than 300 miles away, I'm tempted to drive over there!
Thanks guys.

Turn around time

August 10 2006, 3:04 PM

Steve - It took about 1 month including UPS shipping both ways. UMAREX told me they had been waiting on M75 parts and my rifle was one of a bunch they were doing. The 75 is a really fine gun. Yes, 20 years later there are better rifles, but unless you are heading for the Olympics or Nationals you will find the 75 will outshoot you every time.

Happy Day!

August 10 2006, 4:30 PM

Just received contact from Umarex and the seller. Umarex stated $150 for seals & springs, couple of DAY turn around. Seller stated he'd go $100 towards the reseal. I'll mail off the rifle, minus rear sight, stock & trigger, tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement & experience! I'll get back & let you know how it all ends up.

Diana 75 returns!

August 17 2006, 8:39 PM

UMAREX has returned my 75 already! They didn't have it in their possession a full 48 hours! Resealed and springs replaced, $176 including return shipping. It works! Too bad it's 100+ degrees until well after dark right now. I've shot it down the hall of my house a few times. Chrono'd just over 700 fps. Is that typical? Also, just got the package from Dana. Instruction booklet, disassembly/reassembly book, Diana decal, Diana patch, original test target from another 75. I'm pretty excited to have that stuff, too.
