Vinatge RWS pro mount?

Hi,

I have a couple of old Dianas rifles, one come with an RWS C mount and a Model 400 scope on it. The are a great scope/mount combo, but my Original 45 was made on 07/82 and the C mount and Model 400 scope were made in the 90´.
I want to know if any of you have or know anything about a "RWS pro mount ref: 3300575". The RWS catalog from 1984 shows this pro mount and it looks much better that the new C mount. I have a Mauser rifle with EAW mount, they are Germany made, and the "RWS pro mount" look very similar to the EAW´s.
Do you know where can i found one these mounts for my RWS Original 45?

Thanks,

Alex

Alex,

Is it possible to have a pic of the item (even the similar APEL one), that you are after? It will help.

Cheers,
Nikos

Can We All See What They Look Like?

September 6 2006, 2:54 AM

I use APEL rings, but I didn't know they also made one-piece mounts. It would be nice to have a look at the model that resembles the Diana one.

Alex, you can email me the Diana model pic, if you like. Just klick on my name or moniker, as my email address is there.

TIA,
Nikos

Alex; perhaps this is what you are refering to

April 24 2009, 10:29 AM

[linked image]

It was generically referred to as:

Kipp-M, Für XXX LG 11 mm Prisma
BH YYY, Diam 1"/26 mm

Where XXX is an airgun brand, such as HW, Diana, RWS
YYY is the ring HEIGHT:

It is adjustable for windage, and with some judicious shimming, for drop/droop.

I am sorry, I cannot sell you these as they were purchased for my girlfriend's HW97. They followed a very convoluted path to me, as they were sold to Argentina many many years ago, then they were shipped into México two years ago and now they reside here in CT, USA.

As mounts go, EAW is probably the best mount manufacturer in the world, so their products are not inexpensive, but they are well made.

These particular mounts are made for the GERMAN "Pentagon F" market (free sale to anyone over 18), so they are not up to the recoil of 18 ft-lbs + guns. But in moderate/sedate shooters they do perform well.

The recoil lug is a very peculiar device (lost in mine), that is sort of an inverted allen head screw that you screw in and out from the screw end. Not from the head end. I will have to make one for mine and blue it accordingly.

If Lewis has some of them, you would do well to snatch them up, as they are very very rare indeed.

Current production by EAW does not show the one piece mount, but their rings for Anschütz and FWB and HW should also fit Diana airguns. Again and to insist on the point: These mounts are NOT for high powered springers.
