Which would be better for 10-25 yards plinking RWS 2422 or RWS 92 .117? The RWS 24 is on sale for $149 its fps 495 the RWS 92 is $105 .177 its fps is 700. Which is the better built rifle, most accurate, easiest to cock and easiest to mount a scope?
Leaning toward the 24 but 700fps is not bad for the 92. Is the 92 similar to the RWS 94/93? Which Cometa is it?
I have the .22 and .177 24's, they are the perfect backyarders straight out of the box. My .22 24 makes an average of 7.8fpe, the Commeta may have a flatter tragectory, but it's power is really not much higher maybe 1fpe or less. The .22 will hold more energy which=more smack at the target.
Scoping the 24 is simple, I preffer a peep. Accuracy is amazing, shot cycle is quiet and smooth with no buzz or twang, cocking is very light, and the trigger(T05)can be adjusted easily. You won't be dissapointed with a 24. HTH,
Hi Dack, I have experienced the RWS 24 to have almost(almost) match accuracy in .177 cal.
My son's mod 24 is nearly 20 years old and never serviced except for spring and chamber
occasional lubing. My son then 11 years and now 31 years of age, could hit a asprin
turned on edge at ten meters, repeatedly, using a 4x AO scope. Is the RWS mod 92 as
capable? I really don't know that answer, but I assume accuracy is your primary criteria
so I hope I've helped you with your choice.
