I have been restoring an Original Mod 24 vintage 1968. Having found a nice 2 stage trigger unit, re-sprung, resealed, buttoned, repaired the stock, made a reach forward and back mount from an old one piece and got a tidy 6-24 that was short enough to fit the cylinder..........I have found that the cylinder catch has worn from a triangle to a semi circle and with the refound power the barrel is not able to stay fully locked up on firing. The cylinder catch appears to be pressed in going by Chambers diagrams. I have a spare ropey diana cylinder that has a barely worn catch. So can anyone suggest how the catch can be removed.....I do have access to engineering facilities and am dtermined not to fall at the last hurdle! Any advise will be much appreciated.
Thanks guys
The part you're talking about is called the locking cone. It appears that the same part is still used on current models. You can get a new one from Umarex USA in Fort Smith Arkansas for about $6.50.
Umarex took over the maintenance of Diana and RWS guns this summer. I work in the service department handling customer service calls. Give us a call at 479-646-4210.
