It did it a couple times before, but today it got pretty bad. Sometimes as bad as three shots in a row, but mostly around 50% of the time. It's very noticable when it happens, actually feeling it twist in my hand, and throwing fliers as far off as 3", all to the left (it's twisting left). Got about 1300 shots through it. I haven't oiled the spring or chamber yet. Could it be a dry spring, or something like the spring getting stuck somewhere? Cocking feels perfecly normal, too.

Hi Tony,
I was hoping a more experienced shooter would reply…
When I jerk the trigger the same happens to me, only thing is that the flyers go right; I shoot left handed.
I cannot answer your question though I can give advice regarding the ellmination thereoff. This would be to buy a maccari GRT Kit( www.airrifleheadquarters.com). It is really good and helps a lot. with quality pellets (H&N Baracuda match aka Beeman Kodiak aka Bisley Magnums) I get my best results and can shoot one hole groups (nail size) 5 shots at 40 meters.Last night I shot at 92m and the 3 shot group was as big as my hand( I have quite small hands). I will experiment more at that range and post results. The GRT kit is very easy to install.GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might have a broken spring right at the top coil. Most of the time the spring breaks down about 4-5 turns and will jamb the cocking stroke.
Also, don't clean your barrell with a brass brush - never. If you but even a slight burr on the exit point of the barrle it will fling pellets around...look carefully with a light and a mag, glass. If it has any signs fo burr send it back to rws. The can dress out those kinds of thing in most cases.
Check the o-rings on the slider pins. If one is missing you can get uneven damper.
Check to make sure you have overthrow on your cocking rod. it should have a loose point once it snaps over center.
dissassemble it and take out the spring ..useing a dremel take the sharp wire end and round it on both ends of the spring ..polish the spring ends ...and add 2or 3 thrust washers inside the piston in front of the spring .Lubricate the spring ends and the thrust washers with molly paste .
while you are at it deburr the slots and the piston and lube all the moveing parts , and reassemble .
what you are experienceing is the torqueing of the spring as it decompresses ...and this is being transferred to the whole gun because the sharp jagged spring ends are catching inside the piston .
