I just discovered the site, my only other air rifle is a Gamo CFX. Decided I wanted more everything, so I ended up with a 350 Magnum. I really like the rifle, but the trigger is giving me fits. I like a really light trigger, so that means a very long and relatively heavy first stage. I could learn to live with that, but the adjustment doesn't hold. I'll get a handful of shots, then I lose the 2nd stage completely. I end up with a very long and inconstent single stage trigger pull. Has anyone here had one of the TO5 triggers apart? I'm thinking it may be worth while tearing it down and polishing everything, but I'm hesitating because all I have to work with is an exploded view that still leaves me with questions.

I'm also having some consistency issues, but I think that's at least partly me. Seems like everyones first suggestion is to have the rifle detuned. Not ready to go there yet, I bought this thing because I wanted the power. Lots of other cheaper choices if all I'd been looking for was another target rifle. However, any tips or suggestions on shooting technique would be welcome. Thanks if advance, people.

Before taking any drastic measures ...

October 23 2006, 9:55 PM

Dissassemble the gun ,degrease it ..and polish the spring ends , the piston , deburr and polish the slots apply molly paste to the spring ends and the spring sides and the spring guide the thrust washers and the spring cover tube ,the cocking shoe and the hardened steel plates that hold the piston rod to the T05 trigger. Apply molly to the piston just behind the seal and towards the skirt of the piston as well as the latch on the piston rod .
Apply a 50% molly /oil mix to the moveing parts of the trigger and work them , reapply and let it rest to allow the lubes to permeste into the working parts , apply the mix to the cocking links .
apply molly to the Ball detent as well as the locking clasp apply molly to the pivot screw .
reassemble rifle .shoot rifle ..it will be much smoother , more consistant and have a sweeter trigger ..keep shooting it till its broken in , and enjoy one of the greatest magnum spring guns out there period !!

Regards ,
Frank

Might be yr trigger is set 'on the edge'. Than the 350's triggersystem just isn't made for a setting that light. Or yr adjustments screws are loose (adjusted out too far)ór they're self-adjusting upon firing. The last thing might be solvable with a little bit of Loctite (nót strong!) to the adjustment screws.

350 Info

Damn, Frank, I wish you'd quit beating around the bush and just tell us how you really feel about the 350 ! Seriously, thanks for the input, I think you're right on the money. I guess building a spring compressor needs to move up on the to do list. In the meantime, I'm still shooting it, and learning what it needs. Sure wish it didn't get dark so soon!

The trigger

You might need blue locktite.
Put the stuff on your scope for sure. The 350 really wallops scopes.
Inconsistancy is you. It took me many shots to find my "grove"...sit down and I will tell you how many shots...12,000...yes 12grand of pellets...my spring finally wore out..RWS reconditioned it and when I got back to it I was shooting 73 yards...3inch groups 95% of shots.
350 is a good gun
