Does anyone have a RWS Diana P5 magnum pistol.
I looked at one at the Roanoke Int airgun show, very nice gun, does anyone have a review or feedback on this gun.
Great pistol, very accurate with a consistent hold, good power in the mid 5fpe range, and good sights. The trigger is pretty decent, but adjustment is a bit of a pain, once you've got it were you like it, it is great. The pistol is long and has quite a heft to it, but it is easy to hold steady. It has a jumpy recoil, but after break in it settles down quite a bit. Generally the pistol is easy to work on, and other than the lack of a scope base I have no complaints. HTH,
don't pass judgement on the thing until you have broken it
in with the appropriate number of shots through the gun. It kicks and jumps and twangs for a while until you break it in. Then it smooths out.
the cocking action is difficult for kids and non-airgunners to "get" for some reason. Cocking sets the safety and once you release the safety there is no way to re-engage it (if that matters at all to you)
its got good accuracy. A good gun if you have large hands.. the grip is a bit on the large size for my hands, but not unamangeable.. but maybe not if you have smaller hands
Hi Stuart, I think My P5 is great, Its accurate, easy to cock, well balanced and the fiber optic sights are great for low light use.
Mine shoots its favorite RWS hp pellets at 555 fps and will consistently give a< 1.1" 10 shot group at 25 yards with a rested 2 hand hold. My safety started screwing up due to a faulty spring after 2,600 shots. I have 13,000 + pellets thru mine with no other problems or decrease in power. It seems that apart from the safety its built to last.
I also have a IZH 46M and the P5 is my favorite plinker. It will not shoot at 700 fps however. Mine is not pellet fussy as most pellets are fairly accurate in mine. It will average 505 fps with most medium weight pellets which is plenty for rats, starlings and tin cans.Good shooting,Tom
It shoots at 500 - 550 fps and if you can hold it the same way from shot to shot - it is very accurate. It needs at least 1000 pellets to break in ... so, you learn patience with it. I put a docter sight clone on mine and changed the barrel weight to a heavier and shorter one. If you want a pic - send me a mail.
I recently purchased one. After a problem with the factory getting the proper scope mount. I now have the scope installed and am very happy with the results. Alot of work. But well worth it.
