Hey, went shooting this week and wanted to see how far I could accuratley put a pellet through a 12 oz. coke can about 30 min before the sun went down. Well with a sight in session of around 10 minutes, I went out to 67 yards; which was the farthest I got this session, I had to stop shooting on account of the sun going down but all and all with open sights I had a fun shoot. I just got my new scope mounts and phillips pellet holder and probably going to get a simmons scope tomarrow so needless to say I'm pretty excited.
The RWS 34 is pretty accurate I have the .22 Panther at 10m.

The RWS 34 is pretty accurate I have the .22 Panther at 10m with Gamo match which I'm force feeding because I bought 1k, because of the reasonable price in .22. But What I'm experiencing is a great scope in the BSA 2x7x32AO at 10m the best I can get is wide all touching 5 shot clover leaf that sometimes get as big as a nickle with 10-20 shots??
But at longer range 50 yards 4" clay disk became no challange for me and my fellow shooters. The I was holding over the target but founded that by adjusting my AO to 50 yards even though the targets where 80 yards I could place the cross hair dead on bust the clay disk almost everytime. So though I'm not that impressed with its 10m groups the Gamo SS and RWS 46 shoots smaller 10m groups but at 40-80 yards they are equal almost the RWS 46 is outstanding.
It looks like you are enjoying your RWS34 hows it grouping can I see it 10m groups. I put up my Panthers 34 & 21 groups further down in these replies. Its too had to go through phot bucket for me.
Once I get my scope on and zeroed you'll see some groups....

I am amazed though how well Crosman Premier Hollow Points work in my particular rifle. The truth will come out in the groups though. I'm thinking a simmons scope with my A.G.E. rocktite mounts.
What I can tell you with your RWS 34 is try this . Shoot in about 500 or so shots . Then Build / Buy yourself a spring compressor ( not hard to build , several styles / types )
Take the gun apart (very easy ) clean out whatever and VERY LITTLE of what they had in the spring and internal assembly. Send off to Jim MaCarrie for some heavy Spring Tar and some Light Molly grease.
After cleaning and getting all dry take and de bure all and any sharp edges in and around tube (be careful VERY SHARP ) Then clean again for any metal pieces . Then Grease the spring with the heavy tar very well . Then Use the molly on the tube sides and the piston sides etc . Lube the hinges and the cocking arm.
Now clean the bore very well with goo gone or something that cleans good but make sure its all dry and outta there before shooting it.
You will be amazed how differently the gun feels and handles.
But I was saving it for later, if one day I find my rifle not performing that well, then I'll tune it. I would rather tune the rifle and get a new RWS 350 as well probably in .22.
The 34 Classic also has a recoil pad, something that is lacking on the Mid South version--when you look at the MS website you'll see this if you look for it. I wonder how much more one would have to pay for a bit better appearance.
Even without the butt pad, which is a nice thing to have, I like my 34. But I now have a pellet holder on the stock and my scope rings came in the mail about a week ago. So i'm going to buy a new scope pretty soon, probably a simmons, that is if i can't get the rings off some of my other scopes.
RWS 34 testing and pellet selection. Cristian my Panther 3422 shoots the CP 14.3 around 680-690fps and the 14.0-12.2 around 700-740fps. The Classic 34 is a sharp looking air rifle if its as durable and well made, with the right pellet its very rifle, not as accurate as my 46, but more accurate then most.
Last week end the panther 3422 shot the 14.2 Gamo match (its not really match pellets) 50-80 yards busting 4" clays 4 out 5 times 1 clay it took 3 shoots, high winds. The rifle must be shooting pretty hard the cross hairs are dead on the target, but it was strange that the distance setting was off on my BSA scope. Strange in that the AO had to be set at 50 yards weather at 50 or 80 yards cross hairs dead on. Gamo WC pellets were sunk to the hilt in the plywood back stop.
After changing the scope setting for outdoors, I shot it moving the AO back 15 yrd. at home on my inside range. The gun was shooting @ 15 yrds inches to the right and 2" high.
