Kris,
Welcome aboard!
Unfortunatelly there's not much that can be done to easilly power-up the 953. Accurise YES, but the powerplant just dosen't lend itself to hotrodding.
I have a lightlly modded 953 and really love the thing! I got one of the early ones and was involved in a few long strings over on the Main Fun Supply (Yellow) Forum. There were many little accuracy tweeks discussed, a trigger tune or two, andinfo on lengthining the stock.
The barrels have a special "Quick" rate of twist and tend to favor light short W/C's. Mine does it's best with the cheapo Chinese Daisys (No kidding!).I scoped mine and regularlly enjot punching paper at 30 yaards from the bench.
I know Daisy touted the rifle as having enough velocity for hunting but .177 caliber Airguns firing in the 500+ fps range tend to wound more than kill. Your quarry deserves a clean quick kill, best to use a hunting velocity springer.
Type in 953 over there, sit down and enjoy the read. You are bound to learn a LOT about these litle SSP sweethearts!
