Originally put a Simmons .22LR scope on this gun, and just like I've read afterwards, it doesn't hold a zero very well. I don't believe the optics have been damaged (yet), but that's besides the point. So much for my understanding of spring action air guns at that time...

So I'm looking around a bit at dedicated air gun scopes and dang they can be just as expensive as a good gunpowder firearm scope can't they?! I particularily like to read reviews from actual purchasers/users such as is available on MidwayUSA.com, yet I'm kinda' bummed because the only real scopes that people are really liking are easily over $100. Well, needless to say, I just don't want to spend over $100 for a decent enough scope for this particular gun.

Any suggestions on a good fixed 4x32 scope for this particular gun for < $100

Check out the Leapers web site.Look for the Bug Buster.Strong and well under $100.Get an adjustable 2 piece mount because a one piece ring spacing will be far too much.I'd recommend the B-square.This is what I have on my 34 and I'm very pleased with it.I can shoot inside and it will focus down to 10 ft.or so.
Price most of their line at Pyramyd.

Tom,
Re; my first message I neglected to say that this is a very short scope and to get it far enough back for good eye relief I had to remove the fat headed screw at the rear of the rail and I reamed the hole out to .185(#13 drill).
I did this very slowly with a tap holder and going up 1 drill size at a time. This leaves a nice square shouldered hole deeper than the recoil stop pin on the mount. To use the hole, half of the base will hang off the back.I have over 1000 rounds thru my 34 and the scope(6x bug buster)hasn't moved.

besides the above a Bushnell Sportsman 3-9 with AO will work well. I got one to use with my 48 and if it can handle a 48 it will more than handle the 34. I got it at Cabelas for $90.

Simmons will likely fix your broken scope...

under warranty if you send it in. Their service seems pretty good...when it comes back just save it for a pneumatic or rimfire.
check out the Simmons Pro Airgun scopes here(Natchez)... I bought the 4-12 for $70-; its held up so far on my FWB:
