This question is for Mulby. If I used a Beemen/Williams rear peep om my 48 what type of front sight would I have to use? I know that you have experiance with the peep. I live in Canada but I don't have a clue where to find them. I tried to order from Williams but will not ship to Canada. I really need your help. Thank You very much.

Front sight

Just about any type of front sight is perfectly good to use with a rear peep. The range of vertical adjustment in the 48's stock front sight should allow it to be easily matched with most aperture rear sights. I use peep sights on most of my air rifles, and on sporters I really prefer a simple open post front sight to the interchangeable-insert, tunnel-type target sights.

The Williams models that will work are the FP-AG (this has click adjustments, and comes with either target knobs or flush screw adjusters) and the less expensive new 5D-AG (which has simple sliding adjustments instead of the click type). The models FP-GR and 5D-GR are similar models made for a lower sight line.

Look also for the Beeman Sport Aperture sight, this is the Williams FP-AG TK (i.e. target knob version) under another name. Surely there is a Williams or Beeman dealer in Canada, or a retailer in the US that can ship one to you?

Remember that Diana or Anschutz match sights will also fit this gun. They are very precise, fun to use, and allow the use of many interesting accessories such as adjustable iris units.

Last but not least look on the used market. I have often found old match sights on Ebay, at gunshows, etc., for little more than the cost of a new Williams.

Hi Benson,

February 24 2007, 10:17 AM

I got my Beeman Sport Aperture sights, and Match front sight from here; http://www.dlairgun.com/ The Match front sight for the 48-54 isn't listed on the sight, but they have them.

The factory front sight will work, but I find it WAY to wide for precision. Just make sure you follow the instalation instructions when mounting the Beeman/Williams sight. Good luck and have fun.
