Anschutz diopters. I got two at gun shows and the other from a freind who purchased it on E-bay and then sold it to me. Average cost was around $75cnd. I'm going to another show next week in hopes of finding more. To buy new would be very pricey, so I'll continue to hunt the shows for used ones. Thanks,
I've been saying for years that USED match sights are the bargain of the century. $75 is only pocket change beyond the cost of a new Williams, but a world away in terms of precision and available accessories.
and I can't wait for the show this weekend! I hope I find somemore. The Beeman/Williams peep is a good sight, but the diopters are the stuff. IMO the best sight system you can use on a high power springer like the 48, and turn around and use it for 10m on a low-medium power gun. I will use scopes on some guns, but as long as my vision allows I'll primarily use peeps.
Hi.
Great aparatus!
Say, how do you fit the front hood dovetail clamps on the slanted Diana ramp? I see it keeps being horizontal?
I do not see any adapter.
Is there Diana front sight mount with a horizontal dovetail slot?
Can you show a zoom of the front mount with tube front sight?
Im loooking for a solution for my D-54.
Thanks
The .177 48(top pic)has an aftermarket Diana Match front sight, which consists of a new sight base and globe sight that accepts different insurts. The .22 48(second pic)has the original Diana sight base with a B22(Chinese copy of the 48)globe sight that I took from the rifle before I sold it. I've never seen a globe front sight that has the angle of the 48's sight base built into it other than that of the Chinese B22. I'd bet that if you placed a 'Wanted- B22 Front Globe Sight' add on the Yellow forum you may end up getting what you need as most of the guy's shooting those guns use scopes anyway. BTW, sorry, I don't know how to zoom in on the pic, and I borrowed a camera to take the pics, so what you see is what you get. HTH,
Very nice looking set up Mulby. I love a lady with some curves. Can you explain what you had to do to make the rear and front sights fit? What kind of accuracy can you get compared to a scope or a red dot scope?
Thanks
Capk- The model 24 is abundant in both calibers here in Canada, though we pay considerably more for it.
Cyberskin- No modifications were needed. The rear sights fit the Diana dovetail perfectly. The Diana match front sight on the .177 48 was as simple as swapping it with the original one. The B22 globe sight on the .22 48 was also a perfect fit. Accuracy is very good IMHO, 1" or less at 40yds with either caliber, so long as I do my part and lay off the coffee!LOL!I've never scoped either of the 48's, and honestly I don't think I ever will, seems like alot of hassle and I'm quite happy with them the way they are.
