and the rifle is not very heavy, and when you consider that it makes a solid 14 or 15fpe every bit of the weight the wood stock rifle has is important. On a few occassions I've read of people actually adding more weight to there wood stocked 34 to help settle down the shot cycle and also to improve overall balance. The rifle is long, and a bit muzzle heavy, so I can see the synthetic stock version being even moreso. HTH,

midsouthshooterssupply.com had them $157 not including shipping of about $8. I was considering chinese b20 but figured the extra money was a no brainer for german. I like the gun alot its heavy though and long. Get the wood version before there gone lol, metal sights. The plastic version is lighter but not as nice in my eyes. I think mids got them for $177 go figure there going up in value. Get the .22cal you will be glad you did there a keeper.

I have the Panther in .22. So far so good. I really like having the checkering on the stock. I had a M-46e (wood version) with no checkering and the stock was quite slick when your hands are a bit sweaty. As far as accuracy, the Panther is a 1 holer @ 10 yards and keeps them within 1/2" @ 20 yards - rested with no wind.
