Can anyone reccomend an individual or company to do general upgrades such as trigger work or replacement/spring replacement/other geneeral upgrades on my RWS 54???
Ed Tuned my RWS 350 and made the trigger about 12 oz. crisp and consistent... Shot the gun for one year (10K rounds) and then sold it in 2002 cause it was in .177 and wanted a .22. The second buyer still has it but it doesn't get nearly the usage and is still shooting well.
Last year I shot Mike Edwards .177 and .22 Ed Kyrznowek tuned RWS 54's at PANSAL last year and they were smooth just as I expect from a EKmeister tune job. He takes great care and really does a great job!!
I just finished a complete tune of my 54 .22 (Maccari spring and guide, piston seal, breech seal, clean and lube/moly appropriate parts etc) and it was easier than I thought. If you're mechanically inclined in any way you'll be surprised. I followed the step by step tune posted here a little while ago and it was pretty bang on!
I was thinking about doing a home tune on a rws 52 .22 ,but I can get RussBest to do the job and some trigger work also for about $200 if he's not too booked up.
Is there any information on how to work on those triggers units? I have a t05. Some tunning may do it some good but I would like it to be a little lighter. It's great the way it is with iron sights , but a scope changes everything.
Trigger isn't the best, but this gun gets better and smoother with lots of use as this will break in and mate all parts to each other. Factory spring is OK, lasts about 6000 shots or so and does mellow out nicely after about 1000 - 2000 shots and stays that way until it breaks. You would do well to machine a tighter delrin spring guide, make a top hat to center the spring and polish or hone all parts for a nice fit. I have 10,000 or more shots through mine and this is all I have done internally, and it is a tack driver. The trigger you will get used to, unless you are a FT competitor it does the trick! I also shaved of a ton of wood off of that club of a stock making it a little more sleek. I'd post some pics of my dads moded RWS 48 but I can not figure out how to post one.
