Hey guys I am looking to buy a rws 34 over a gamo cfx and was wondering if I should get the panther or the classic wood stock. I personaly like the wood stock but It seems that those who have the panther version are getting about 100fps more than the original wood stock! Now I dont see how that is since they should have the same internals but I have read many post that have the panther shooting higher than the wood stock version!! I really just dont get how this can be but I am not going to complain, Unless all the panther models are guaranteed like this than I will probably still get the wooden version because I like the classic look. I will be getting the .22 version but can anyone post chrony numbers and tell how these guns perform as a hunting gun?(performance, power, accuracy) One other quesion is, On the Uramex site I saw the professinal version of the 34 and what looked to be the panther version of it but was called the 31 proffesional. These guns have a muzzle break a buttpad and can be had in regular or carbine version. Does anyone know of any sites with these guns for sale? Thanks prieciate it everyone!

I do not have one in 22cal. but my bud does and it shoots in the low 700's.same power plant in both versions so the speed should be the same or close for either one.

I have a M34 Panther. I really like the shape and feel of the plastic stock - absolutly love the sharp checkering. I'm not a plastic stock type of guy, but on this gun it makes sence as it sees a lot of rough use. My Panther in .22 cal shoots right at 600fps with 14.3gr Crossman Premiers. I live at about 3700 ft above sea level, which may be part of the reason others get higher velocities.

How does it hunt?

I love my model 34 in 177. It shoots great, has plenty of power etc. I was thinking of getting a model 48. or 350. but I really do not think I need all that power. What kind of game have you taken with the panther and at what distances. I saw the synthetic scoped in the store and it was a nice looking rife. Also the review of the rifle by BB Pelletier was really good.

Thanks

Just got a Macarri spring for my 34

.22 and can't wait to install it!...You can always install a butt pad on a 34 if you have the tools and some patience. I put a Morgan adjustable on mine, plus a billet aluminum trigger guard I made in a couple of hours. You'll love the 34, it's light and pretty powerful. I've since picked up the mod 350 in .22, and it packs a very nice punch, and quite accurate when held properly. It's a nice hunter.

Tell me more

September 11 2007, 11:22 AM

Can you tell me more about the butt pad, and how you installed it. Also tell me about the swivels for the sling. What kind of mount for the scope have you been using and what kind of scope. I receive my 34 about a month ago and love this rifle to death. I am thinking about the 350 in 22. or maybe the 48.

Thank you in advance!

Dave

so what happened..

with the Macarri spring? Did you install it? Did you do any chrono testing/readings?

Just curious: What kind of scope is that in the picture on your 34 and what kind of mount & scope are you using on your new 350 .22 rifle? I also got a 350 .22 a week ago and having problems with the mount & rings.. so I 'm trying to get a feel to see what people are using on their SuperMagnum springers.

Yes, the 350 can definitely deliver a punch. It had devastating results on a big adult (15lb) groundhog's head I shot at 21yds with the C/Premier 14.3gr. Very quick humane kill. I think I bought the heavy Kodiaks for nothing Awesome hunting rifle for your heavier 10-20lb pests like woodchucks, racoons & possoms. I would not get the 350 for just plinking and target shooting. It's a hunting rifle with velocities of 850+fps in .22

Trigger guard?

What do you mean you made it? Why does the butt plate need patience to install? What tools did you use? Please explain what you like about your 22.cal in the 34 compared to the 350.?

thanks
