I finally got my 350 mag last week and ran some cleaning pellets through before shooting for the first time. The cleaning pellets fit in pretty snug. Yesterday i ran a few more cleaning pellets through and they went into the barrel much easier than before, almost too easy. Is this normal after some break in? I've probably run 200 to 300 pellets through. Any input would be appreciated.
that on mine, but then again I 've only shot cleaning pellets once through the 350. I 'll let you know when I run the next batch through. I plan on having another 75-100 pellet session this weekend if the weather is nice. Are you pushing them through with the rod, or firing them?
thanks for responding harry. i ot the .177 and .22 mixed up! I've got the 350 in .22 I haven't scoped it yet, i want to get it tuned first, but a scope after for sure as well as a muzzle brake and sling. is yours scoped? any recommendations on a reasonably priced scope? i probably want variable power of at least 9 up to 12.
If you also have .177 / .22 cleaning pellets , make sure that they didn't some how get mixed together .
Check to see that the manufacture didn't get a mixed bunch .
On my RWS 34's After the initial cleaning the cleaning pellets loaded slightly easier , but still had to be guided and punched in a bit with something .
I usually load 2 - 3 at a time so as the gun has enough resistance and not to damage anything .
Jess: I did have a scope on it but the 350 broke it and the mount. You really don't want to put a scope on it until you get it at least lube tuned. The 350 is notorious for moving your mount, lossening up your mount adjustment screws (if you have an adjustable windage mount) and breaking scopes. Read the older threads on this forum from a month ago or earlier. You 'll find a lot of good info. I have not decided which scope to go with next, on my 350 after I get it tuned a little. I believe I 'm going to start with a cheaper 3-9X or 4-12X scope that is rated shockproof and for springers but I 'm not going to spend a lot of $ in case this scope doesn't hold up. I would get it replaced under warranty but I wouldn't use it again on the 350, so I wouldn't buy a good one or expensive one at first. There are several people out there that are stuck with all these scopes that were replaced after the 350 broke them. Just make sure the scope you get is rated for high springer recoil. Most vendor web sites will classify them, or you can call the scope manufacturer.
