I'm curious if anyone here has had their 350 tuned yet? Was their an increase or decrease in fpe or fps? Who did the tune for you? Thanks for the info!

I know folks who have had theirs done

You'll most likely see a decrease in velocity, but it will shoot smoother and more accuratly. I wouldn't expect a velocity tune on an already powerful magnum springer. I did hear of one person who took his 350 down to 12 ft lbs and as a result, has a wonderfully smooth shooting, accurate gun. Different spring of course. I'd personally like to see one in the 18 ft lb range. I think that would be the perfect balance of power and accuracy. You could probably go 20 with a new spring, top hat and lube. Then you'd have something.

"but I'll be needin' that gun, fer squirrels and such."

thanks bill

thanks for the info bill. 18-20 fpe sounds fine to me. The power right now is fine and I wouldn't mind trading some fpe for a really smooth shooting gun. Have you had any of your guns tuned? who would you recommend? Paul Watts seems to have a good rep. What about the guy that calls himself Charlie da tuna?

I smoothie tuned my 350(.22) to 9.7 fpe recently...

November 6 2007, 10:53 AM

my 460(.22) shoots at 23FPE as accurately and easily as the turned down 350...at full power my 350 sucked, at least with me on the trigger...

Regards,

Tony

How much fpe is an original 350 magnum not tuned or anything special?

Depends on caliber

In .177 they average about 21 with CP's. In .22 they are closer to 24.

It's possible to get an increase...

but with a hot, a very 'healthy' 350 no real need for that.

I had a 350 ADV tuned and barrel cut/recrowned/long MB or
muzzle weighted by Paul Watts. Even with 12" of barrel the
.22 still produced 20-21ish FPE.

wow!

November 10 2007, 9:35 AM

You only had a 12" barrel on your 350 .22? 21FPE is still great with that short a barrel but how was the accuracy? Didn't it hurt the accuracy? I guess if Paul Watts also made your 350 smoother, it could maintain its accuracy? Normally lengthening the barrel gives you a little more ME (FPE) and better accuracy but you did the opposite. What was the reason behind that? A lighter, better balanced gun?

Forgot to mention Paul choked the shortened....

barrel too. Man I should have kept that sweet potent break-barrel
carbine!

I could shoot .75" to 1.0" groups from a seated/rested position
in good conditions weather/wind wise. Produced a few that'd fit
easily under a dime. Had a Bushy 4-16x40 Elite 4200 on her.
