Second I have a RWS350 Magnum. Is there a do it yourself kit for disassembly and tuning or should I send it out to a Paul Watts or some other professional tuner? Thanks
About 3 weeks ago a very kind airgun owner posted a 7-part instructional series on taking the 350 apart and doing a lube tune. He included a lot of pictures. Go back a little and you 'll see it. There are no parts you can buy to tune the 350. The airgunsmiths fabricate or machine the parts themselves but I don't think a whole lot of 'real' tuning has been done on 350's yet. I 've read of a couple of people that tried different (smaller) springs and brought the power down to make it a smooth shooter but that's about it. I personally don't want to lose any power and will just do a lube tune on it as I have read that others that did just that, reported their guns smoothing out a little and getting even more powerful, especially when the 350 breaks in after 1,000 shots. One guy in particular that posted his chrony #'s was getting 24-25FPE out of his .22 with certain medium-weight pellets (860-890fps MV) after 2,000 shots, a lube tune and some polishing & deburring.
