We have a disagreement going on another Airgun site in reguards to whether or not RWS guns have the same parts internally as Diana guns? Some claim inferior Spanish/Chinese parts are outsoursed and installed in the RWS guns.I personally talked to Umarex USA and they said the rifles are from the same factory in Germany.Any tuners out there know the facts.A local company is selling RWs guns at near 1/2 the price of the Diana's.Somehow I don't see the US accepting second grade guns while the cream of the crop heads north to us in Canada?Sounds like BS to me.Any insight would be appreciated............Thanx Harold
aren't "unGermaning" the Dianas and Weihrauchs. It'd be discovered
quick and they'd wish they hadn't tried to pull a fast one.
Actually though I don't know for sure that the German insides aka
parts (guides, springs, etc.) are made at the German factories.
Maybe they are from Spain, Turkey, etc. Maybe a fast one is being
pulled and I don't know it yet. LOL
Who here can look at a spring, guide, piston, etc. and know for a
fact that it's a real deal made at the Weihrauch, the Diana, etc.
factory? If so HOW do you know?
First of all, I trust Glen at Uramax and I have asked him the same question. It would be very hard to believe that RWS and Uramax would risk their whole reputation for something so so stupid. What store is selling the guns at half off. I want in on that deal. It should be public knowledge. Please let us know. I am in the market for a Panther in 22.ca.
The store is Specialty Shooting Sports Outdoors Langley BC Canada [604]533-9290 How does $204.99 grab you for a RWS .22 Panther NIB I bought a HW80K .22 last week from them and a RWS 34 .22 yesterday for $225 ! Harold
Sounds like they are closing their books out for the year to save taxes or what ever. do you know if they are new out of the box or demos as the Sale Uramax is doing as we speak. Thanks for the Info.
DAve
Far as I know they are like I said NIB [New In BOX]But the warranty is up in the air as US guns sold in Canada.Diana will repair but not for free and RWS warranties US sold guns only. You see the quandry but you'll probably never need the warranty anyways as there are a multitude of tuners and do it yourselfers out there with parts availability..............Harold
My Diana gun is from over 10 years ago or better and when I took it apart I compared the new parts to the older ones I replaced, it would be very hard to say but the only differences I noted was that the original spring guide was black and the new one was a opaqe kind of white nylon color and the original mainspring was almost a blued black color where the new one was more of a gold tint color, piston seals look identical and are blue in color as always. Very doubtful the Germans would allow some parts to be made someplace else, although it may happen in the future, I don't like this idea at all either.
The tuners will know if Diana/RWS have gone to China or Spain and so will the the end users by witness of the poor performance of the guns themselves. If the Dianawerk wishes to see their market share and reputation go down the tubes this would be the fastest way to accomplish it and they know it, so fear not.
