I have both the Williams FP-AG-TK and the Beeman Sport Aperture sights. They are exactly the same except for the name engraved on the base. Both work really well. I also recommend purchasing the "Twilight" series aperture for low light shooting. The sights are mounted on a RWS 34 and RWS 350M. I use the guns for plinking and hunting.
Look for another series of messages about peep sights a few month back. There are several nice pictures and many good comments.
The Twilight aperture has a copper ring on the periphery which makes it much easier to use in low light situations.
From the Williams 2007 catalog:
TWILIGHT SERIES
Twilight apertures are designed for shooting under
poor light conditions, early morning, late evening,
and other inclement conditions. They create a sharp
contrast that gives quick definition to the aperture
hole, and they eliminate the “fuzz” with which many
shooters have trouble.
These apertures are perhaps the greatest development
in metallic sights in the last three decades – positive
sighting when the light is poor but the hunting best.
Williams ‘Twilight’ apertures will accommodate
Redfield, Lyman, etc.
I really like the thread about using aperture sights, really like the Anschutz sight and what a neat idea of using the cap screw as a positive stop, have always like using these type of sights on my match rifles and am going to have to do a setup on one of my sporting airguns now.
Has anyone actually seen the Williams Twilight Aperture? Tony, you said it has a copper ring around the periphery that somehow takes the fuzz out of the aperture picture in low light. Very intriguing. Seems like it might need more "magic" than that to make it work. Any more details or possibly a photo?
Thanks very much,
Stephen
Tony,
Neat. Good to hear from someone who has personal experience with a new gizmo before the rest of us plunk down our cash. Thanks!
Looking at this Twilight Aperture, I'm always pleasantly surprised when someone comes up with a simple and clever scheme that makes such a big difference.
Looks like a good gift idea!
