While i have not tried Predator lead free pellets, I have tried several other kinds of non lead pellets. None were accurate past 20 yards in any rifle i own,PE,R9,rws46, 2 rws 24s,Rws 350m,Rws 460m,Tx200,or a AA410 E. Since a combination of Zinc,Tin or copper is not as dense as lead they tend to loose velocity quickly. The plastic sabots these non lead pellets use to seal the bore left deposits in the barrel in some cases. The lighter ones seem like your dry firing your rifle and will damage your gun. The pointed shape infers a poor ballistic coefecint and hence poor energy retention at long range. Because they are made of harder materials they don't expand in varmints like soft lead and pass thru without energy transfer. Probally the worst part about non lead pellets is that they are more expensive. I hope that effective lead free pelets can be developed but the ones i have tried were not too good. The bottom line is that pellet stability is maintained by the amount of rifling twist. Present air guns were designed for the ideal air gun projectile made of a soft dense material (lead}. To change to a different lighter density material would require a change in rifling twist in order to maintain accuracy. If you do try predators please report on effectivess. Tom
Warren. Won't let that happen.. I just couldn't help myself though. Besides he 's been at the Gamo forum after a couple of our nice Dianawerck members rushed to give him the links
