I saw some stuff at Pyramid Air, are those the ones you meant? I don't think anyone has tried those as far as I know.
What I would be interested in trying is taking the HW front site offered at Straightshooters and grind down what needs to be ground down to fit That globe on the front of the new era Dianas.
I think you must have seen them also, after thinking about it I bet it is tough to get the front sight sleeve off of a 48 and put the one on that has the globe sight. The HW front sights are nice, I missed out on getting one with the interchangeable inserts and wished I had of now, I would think the old front sight for the Diana 35 might work on some of the other Diana guns it had interchangeable inserts.
Yeah, that sight would be great for what you want. I bet lots of people would like a globe front site for their newer dianas like that one.
If it were a globe front sight with interchangeable inserts, I wouldn't even care if the thing was made of the same plastic the triggers are now made of. Because nowadays we'd have to keep the price down than seemingly in the past (or the accountants run more of the show than in the past) but I bet they'd be just fine.
I read not too long ago somewhere of people talking about how poker chip plastic can hardly even be scratched. Our Diana plastic is good enough for triggers, it would be great if they made us some globe sights with it too. I'd love classic steel but that I think would not happen anymore.
What we really need is Umarex to create a Diana custom shop. Give us parts and doodads so we can get these things set up the way we'd like. We need that front sight, like you said.
is really easy to remove . Unfortunately it leaves a fugly step with nothing to attach that globe sight to. Yup I saw that sight too ! Was my first choice before a scope ...the way the barrel is tooled at the muzzle left me no choice .
