many 'newbies' and some not so new think RWS, Beeman,
etc. actually make/manufacture airguns and airgun
accessories.

A Remington AM77 air rifle is not made by Remington -
it's a version of a Crosman 2100 made by Crosman. Colt,
Smith & Wesson, Winchester, etc. don't make airguns.
Ted Williams didn't make airguns either

I think most of us know this. Just like when I was a kid and every one wore "Chucks". no one actually believed Chuck Taylor was sitting at home making shoes in between games. A RWS will always be remembered and the three letters will always get the attention of airgun owners.

there are quite a few posts over the years that reveal the poster
didn't know. Comes in handy to know when looking for parts, schematics,
specs, etc.

Probably best to list, post like this: RWS/Diana, RWS/Cometa, Beeman
R9/HW95 or Beeman/Weihrauch R9/HW95, etc. More than a few guys will
respond to listing/posting it like that and state they didn't know.

I've talked to people that said they wouldn't buy a Japanese car
and that they owned a Ford. Looking at their cars I saw Mazdas

Very good point with the Mazda. It will not be long before Diana's are made in Japan. Just wait.
