The point of airgunning seems to have been lost to a great degree by many people involved in this sport/hobby. It isn't about collecting although some enjoy that aspect of airguns. It isn't about the newest latest greatest hyper velocity pellet thrower. It isn't even about the people you "meet" on the internet. Its purely about shooting accurately at velocities and under conditions that normal firearms can't allow simply by their design. They're loud, they throw projectiles miles instead of yards and they can be a greater liability in some homes than airguns might.
Its about getting a quality shooting tool and becoming as good as you can with that tool. Its about paper punching with a goal to improve. its about hunting and pest culling. Its about being able to shoot a rifle or pistol in conditions that would otherwise be closed to most of us.
Its about the feel of a well made airgun. Its about the shooting cycle. Its about the whole elegant shooting experience that only airgunners are acquainted with. A minimalist sport. Airguns offer us so many more opportunities to shoot it should boggle the minds of firearms only shooters.
Its the walk in the field, the path through the woods. Its about shooting at paper for the practice and the feel of the gun going off. Its about so much more with so much less.
like your posts, it has sentiment to the basic airgun field. It gives the other side of pulling a trigger on paper and game, the difference is in the mind and how you transpose that feeling in a blog.
Nice explanation on how the cheapest or most expensive air gun gives you that satisfaction.
warren
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
Warren, thanks again. The price of an airgun is not always related to the satisfaction it can offer its owner. Its what the shooter makes of the experience.
Without sounding like I'm harping, this site is a forum.
