You may recall I did a main spring and lube on both my Model 24 and 36 recently. Santa delivered up a Chrony, and today was my first opportunity to try it out. The 24 ranged from low of 569 to high of 580, avg. 577. The 36 shot 884 to 893, avg. 888. Numbers are all using JSB Exacts. I ended up spending most of my time today fighting scope problems so I didn't get a chance to try any other pellets. I'm not sure what the 24 is supposed to shoot, but it looks like the 36 is putting out the heat it should.

Looks pretty close

To the numbers I've gotten in the past IIRC. Mine might be a tad slower at my elevation 4700 feet above sea level. Mine is usually just a tad over 600 with lighter pellets.

Thanks Nathan

The 24 is just ideal for backyard target shooting and bushy tail defense. Yesterday I had changed out the confounded RWS C mount for a BKL drooper, which I managed to put on backwards! Needless to say after adjusting the scope to its limit I was scratching my head. D'oh!! As if I needed another dose of humility Anyway, my next project is to see if I can make the T02 trigger a bit more civil, it is way too stiff.

Regards
Bill

I heard the 24 is no longer being made and very hard to come by in the US.It's being replaced by a new model 240 with fibre optic sights. We have a few 24's still up here in Canada...............Harold

I think that's just about right for the Diana 24. They've been known to vary from the mid fives to the low sixes depending on who knows why. Doesn't matter though because they are sweeeeeet to shoot. And quiet too. I thought I'd read they tend to come up a little on regular use but please don't quote me on that lol.

I had one and I never should have sold it.

My Mod 24 shoots 8 grain pellets

January 6 2008, 5:26 PM

in the mid 500 fps range. Seems to be a bit slower than most folks claim of their Mod 24's, but I can't fault it for accuracy. I also have an R7 and I can shoot the Mod 24 more accurately and it just seems to fit me better. It is by far my most prized low-powered springer. I hope to be able to get one of the new Mod 240's. Looks like a winner to me, I just hope someone will import them to the USA as I really do want one.

I totally agree. so much focus of Power, that these nice guns are are not talked about. I would love to have a 240. I guess we have to talk to Glen at Umarex.
