Sorry Dave I didnt see the last response you made when we were talking about the 850 in one one of the post. Your question was can somegbody hear it from outside, inside the house. I asked my girlfiriend if she could hear me shoot when I got outside with the 850. She said which one is that, the one I bought you? Rite away that told me her answer wouldn't be accurate. So earlier this evening I had my girlfiriend go out and shoot it with a whistle around her neck. After every shot she blew whistle which, I heard just fine. I only heard one shot out of all 8, and that was the first shot. So like I said the 850 is pretty quiet. I see by recent post you have a 850 now, how do you like it? By the way I am going tomorrow to a sporting goods store, about an hour away, to check out the 34. I am probably going to buy it, I just am not sure if I should get the panter or classic. Sure do like the globe front site on the classic. Do you guys think the panther will last as long as many of the classics have in the past?

Also- Dave, thanks to the test I did for you, I now have a new problem on my hands. My girlfriend has not liked any of my springers, but seems to love the 850. Obviously I see why, who wouldn't? But tonight she quoted these exact words " I love that little gun I bought you, do they have that one at the place your going to tommorrow?!?!" I knew she loved it the way she was nailing tennis balls off hand at 40 yards! So I may just have to come home with a 850 in .22 instead of that 34. The 34 may just have to wait for another day......
Good luck with the 850. And dont let anyone close shoot it, or else it you may end up with another one before you know it! NOT saying that's a BAD thing!!!!!

Thanks for the test. Yes, I do love my 850. I taped up the compensator and there is virtually no sound at all from the gun. It really is a fun gun to shoot. I am glad that your girlfriend loves to shoot also. By all means get the 34. I love that gun. I have recently bought a cross man 850 pellet trap and have been shooting both the 34 and 850 indoors. I think the panther is a great choice. All weather stock and even has a butt pad to boot. The 34 is the heart of the Diana line (IMO). You will love it. Nice to hear from you Avery, keep in touch.

Harry, if you are reading this post, you may want to keep your 850 away from your wife. I know she likes to shoot.

She 's looking forward to it after she shot the 350! Actually her only complain was the 8.3lb weight of the 350 after a few shots which I kind of expected. Besides the 350 looked almost as big as her! It doesn't look normal or proportionate when women hold it. It looks much better in a man's hands. BTW, she outshot me with the 350!! She shot a couple of bullseys (1" center circle) at 20yds with like her first 4 shots, off-hand! It took me 5 or 6 shots to get a 2nd one in the center hole! She had never shot it before! She does take about 2min. for each shot like she 's playing chess.. She takes her time. After 20min. she had shot <10! I aim for about 6-7 secs. and shoot. I 'm used to shooting fast before the crow or squirrel get away
