Hi.Anyone know if a 1998 mod 24 has a leather piston seal?Newly acquired rifle has not been shot in a while and wonder if it should be chamberlubed...Thanx all,tomas
Tomas, the best way I can tell you to have an idea about the seal is to check if the rifle is stamped T0-1 or T0-5. Also, since the rifle was made in 1998 its a pretty safe assumption that the seal is no longer leather. If the rifle were a T0-1 it would be possible it could have the leather seal.
My best guess is no, your 24 should have the later seal. Not leather.
