arrived but a few moments ago . Lovingly rubbed down with scented oil and barrel swiped clean ... I blame Harry and his iron sight exploits ...
and a not so good full quartering away view .Good shot of the B&D shooting bench and home fab rest though . Waiting for the darlin to thaw out before pelletizing her- danged near got frost bite rubbing her down!
That's what a 350 looks like without a mount stuck to it forever!! heheh
You copy cat!! I enjoyed being one of the few to have a 350, now there 's too many of us!
Good luck with it, and good luck learning the hold! I found that some pellets shoot better with a different hold than others!
I hope you can master this beast of a Diana like I have but you 'll probably mod it after 20 shots, so nevermind
BTW, JM and I e-mailed back & forth about the Arctic spring vs. the 3-9 Ultra, custom guides, etc. About 3-4 e-mails. I can't get anywhere with this man. Total waste of my time. This guy thinks I 'm going to hold him esponsible for FPE or velocity #'s or something which I didn't even mention. All I asked was which 2 of the springs comes close to OEM power for my 350. He was afraid to even tell me the difference between the 2 springs which was actually my main question. I then asked him which spring do you recommend for my 350, and he said contact Paul Watts!! What the H*LL? I 'm done talking to this guy. He speaks in riddles and his answers are usually anectodal at best, or useless to me. He usually gives me answers to things I didn't ask and seems very cautious like a lawyer afraid of being sued or something. Maybe someone did.. who knows. Either he has severe ADT or doesn't read my entire e-mails. He got me more confused than ever. Not my favorite person right now.. all he got me was stressed out and gave me no straight answers. How can one not be willing to provide information on products he sells, is beyond me.. I guess people guy his springs blind without knowing what they 're getting. I was only able to extract one good thing out of him which confirmed what Paul Werner (CDT) told me: Stick with Diana seals! They are pretty darn good, when I asked which seal of "his" should go on my 350 piston.. At least I got something useful out of all those e-mails.

You do not only have the 350 but God knows what is in your ARSENAL and I bet they are ALL modified to the teeth
that 350 is going to kick your socks right out of your feet as soon as you shoot the first pellet
warren
PS: Harry, JM and these Tuners of airguns are all alike, they will not spill the beans, it's like trade secrets are exposed if they come out and say something specific. it's like a code of silence among them. you decide what to modify and if it comes wrong (not to your liking) you cannot blame them. And yes Harry, you are one of the first to open the eyes to many about the 350 in this forum and for that A THANK YOU from my part
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
I bet you a dime to a doughnut you are incorrect on the "mod it within 20 shots" !
...100 so far and not a mod (not even the trigger! ) . ...but I am contemplating LOL It does seem "rough" especially after all the others having kits of some kind in them . Gets better every shot though.
Oddly enough the 350 likes the Superdomes that the 34 and 48 don't (though they do fit fairly loosely ). I haven't shot much offhand with it but tried it out . I can hit 1/4" circles @ 10m offhand 5 out of 10 times . If I wasn't so shaky - I bet I could do better yet . 8 or 9 /10 ,with more practice , should be within my grasp. Do I have the hold somewhat mastered? It doesn't hold the animal recoil stigma to me.
Now as far as JM is concerned - I cannot speak for him - my advice is to ask which one will give full or more power and get that one . Plain simple and get a lube kit and seal to go with it . You won't be sorry in the least . I like the ARH stuff as you can tell - if I had the extra cash right now ,I'd retrofit all of my airguns with Tesla seals- along with buying extra Arctic springs .
groups at 10m without a scope. Come talk to me when you 're shooting 0.75" at 20yds without a scope and 0.4" at 14.5yds
Yeah Superdomes work great with the 350, especially at 10-20yds. Not as good at 25-30yds for some reason. The 350 also shoots the smoothest with the Superdomes for some strange reason. It sounds different and somewhat louder when it shoots CP's, and differently with some slight torqueing when it shoots JSB Exact 15.9's but they 're all very accurate. Go figure.
I find it is "easier" to shoot the Superdomes accurately without having to worry about "the hold" too much. I think Diana may have done a lot of their 350 testing with this pellet.
BTW, I simply asked JM "which spring comes closer to OEM power for the 350, the Arctic or the 3-9 Ultra?" He says talk to Paul Watts or one of the popular tuners because they install many of them and measure the performance..! What kind of answer is that? I 'm sure he knows, he 's just afraid to commit to an answer, or thinks I 'll go on the forum and tell people which spring to get, and he might not sell the "other" spring as much. Who knows how he thinks..

First adult airgun : Beeman R7 .177 - JM kit w/Arctic spring (Fabulous piece of spiral wound workmanship) buttoned piston , BKL260 w/Swift 685M 3-9x40 &CustomBrakz mw ...and then rapidly degenerating to a Diana "Arsenal" M48 .22 - JM GRT kit , BKL 260d7 w/Bushnell Trophy 4-12x40 & CustomBrakz mw soon. M40 .177 -JM GRT ,BKL 253 w/Bugbuster 6x & "carbinized" @ 13.25" M34 Panther .22 - JM spring kit w/Arctic spring otherwise...stock??? *gasp* debating Carbinizing it and adding scope/mount and Apex MW.I do not like the fiber optic open sights.Scoping *will* happen M350 .22 - soon JM Arctic Steel kit .Iron sights as it is very very new . I do have a nice selection of BKL's to add a scope though .Heh heh heh Oh how I want to "compact" this one !
by his own admission, he states 'Hmmm...I am only missing a few aren't I"
guilty as charged, he is not confessing to the truth
there are MORE he doesn't talk about, maybe if we raided his pad we would find the rest of the EVIDENCE, meaning more guns' than he admits to
and the STASH of residual airgun products would make at least 2 more rifles, by that I mean extra barrels, triggers, springs, wood stocks, etc. etc. etc.

the ones Rick mentions are the ones he bought recently just in the last 90-100days that we know of and posted that he did. The other 30 guns from last year don't count
or I should say anything with more than a 14" barrel doesn't get mentioned, because we know how he likes to chop those nice barrels
So Rick, what are your impressions of the 350? Does your shoulder hurt yet or what? You are lucky you won't have to put 1,000 pellets through it before it smooths out and see how the recoil comes down gradually like I did. The great thing about the 350 is that you get a lot power without the heavy cocking effort. I don't get tired much like I used to now. Used to shoot 50-70 pellets and stop. Now after ~1,600 pellets I can do 100-125 in one sitting and my arm hardly gets tired.
Do me a favor. Document some before & after chrony #'s when you mod it. I want to see what this Arctic steel spring can do since JM avoids giving me any straight answers. Now if someone else with a 350 installs a 3-9 Ultra spring, we will know the difference between the 2 springs

I want about 100 more shots through it before the stock numbers get documented . I may hold off a bit on the mods (or at least take some serious pre thought before doing any) I'm kinda liking this 350 as it sits .
I think Diana is putting out better guns with much smaller tolerances and better QC than when I bought my 350. Mine was made in early '07. What is the manufacture date on yours? If you read JM's blog about his 34, he says it is very tight and nothing had changed after 600 shots. That is not typical of a springer.
It could be the recent guns coming out of the Diana factory were built with more care than before in an effort to compete with the cheaper Chinese alternatives as JM mentions. Maybe some additional debur or hone, everything torqued properly, ie: a lot more QC as they indicated to JM when he contacted them. When I first got my 350 my shoulder would hurt after 30-40 shots. Not anymore as it smoothed out a lot especially after 700-800 shots and more now with 1600-1700 on it, but it is possible that yours is shooting smoother out of the box without much torqueing. I wonder if Diana also changed something in the design of the guides, their material or the piston.

the reciever date is 03 07 ...could be a twin to yours .
The .22 34 Panther is still tight as a drum after the "tune up" .Hits hard and has a smooth cycle. Cocking effort is decreased a bunch *after* you slap the bahjeezus out of it to open it . Have tools , will fix! Yes the 350 is tight also . The noises it made are much quieter after @ 200 pellets. Mainly in the cocking cycle - the rest of the cycle is really pretty good . ( as expected a plain padded envelope was sitting in my mail box this a.m. . JM , always on the ball and on schedule )
Looking for *The* chrony post ??? search isn't bringing it up ? Have some rather disappointing stock 350 #'s to add . Truth is always the best even *if* it doesn't give bragging rights . Numbers aren't great , but the gun shoots very well - especially with CP's and Superdomes .
Well the 350 is "modded" now . I'm officially holding back (really tough to do too! ) installing the 350 Arctic Steel kit for another tin or two of pellets . It will go in - you betcha! The more I shoot this 350 , the more I like it . Not bad for $300 shipped if you ask me.
"The FP-AG & WGRS arrived . The WGRS - while I like the compactness - is going back . Needs to be hand fitted and doesn't appear robust enough for even a medium powered springer.Adjustments made by guess by golly and a teeny flat head screw is what holds the adjustment. That won't do. It does have a set screw that would line up *perfectly* with a stop pin hole though.Peep movement wouldn't be an issue. May work Very well with a lower powered D24 or R7 ...hmmmm
The FP-AG ...LOL Perfect ! Set to lowest position and centered . CP hp(wallyworld specials) 5 shots into .244" @ 10m - 1" right and 3/4" low ...off a bench (of course) but both hands holding and elbows rested. My eyes may not be bad afterall ! Plenty of adjustment if I want to try further than 35 yards as it is the 10 & 37 zero by chairgun2 . (On *Paper* of course) *eta* s'be 10 and 50 yard zeros . Only 1.25" high at 30-35 yards though. The Diana front post? I like that too. The .093" Twilight aperature is a bit large for 10m targets - I'll be using the .050" indoors and the .093" as a hunting/pesting ap . "
