Missed ya, good to see your Post and thanks for reviving that enjoyable post!
Yes some things changed a bit, As you see we now have a search function and the change in the foremat is being tried to help locate and refrence to searched-out posts.
Of late there is a great intrest in the Underlevers and perhaps your experience with them will draw you into more visits!
Good to be back Z. I went to the real dark side last year, playing around with old Colt pistols. They are great to collect and shoot but like Clint says, "a man's gotta know his limitations".
I grew up and realized that after a lifetime of high power, black powder, large bore, small bore and what have you, my heart still belongs to the spring, just like when I was a kid.
Glad to see your great site has gotten even better. Congrats on the search function as well.
Marcello, they are beauties, I can't wait to see them in person. Eat your heart out guys, Marcelo and I are Homey's. Brave for Virginia! Please tell us more! What are your favorites? Look at those stocks! I am really looking forward to meeting you Marcelo. Thanks for sharing and please do not stop.
My favorite is a 27 year old HW 30s for it's sentimental reasons.
I bought it the week before I got married as a way to save money on shooting. I was young and poor and with a wife, mortgage and night school. I couldn't swing the $10 buck range fees, gas and ammo costs and time to shoot my flintlock.
That HW30 was my only air rifle other than a boyhood Sheridan. Set up a range in the basement and shot that thing for years. Must have put an easy 15,000 rounds through it.
As time passed and finances picked up, I went on to shotguns, High power rifle, and eventually pistols. Eventually though, I re-discovered my old HW. Still shot great but was very twangy so I set out to fix it.
One of the reasons why I post how to's is I imagine there are young guys out with with babies and mortgages and maybe they can try their hand at making a springer smoother without cutting into the diaper budget.
Marcelo, what a breath of fresh air you bring to this forum. Looking at your pics and talent overwhelms me. I wish I had just a little of it, but God, had other plans. Obviously you have a lot of stories, etc. you can share. How about telling us a liitle bit more of your guns. I was a very avid hunter and shooter for years but dropped out because it was becoming harder and harder to find a place to hunt and shoot. Airguns have opened up a new world and bringing back the kid in me. One of the things I would like to see in this sport is the emergence of youth shooters. I really believe a new awareness is approaching to the sport of airgunning. I think that is were my enthusiasm for Gamo and Crosman come in. I believe they are trying to open some doors. I have a 7 year old son that I want to get involved in air guns. He already is like a young beagle pup dying to join the older hounds in the chase.
I am so thrilled that you live so close by and am very eager to meet all the "TIDEWATER GUN BOYS".
A long time ago, my wife and I came to an agreement that the whole, damn, house, was hers except for the garage, which is mine. Therefore, that's where I hang out when she's watching her soap opera's and American Dancing Idol stuff.
It's actually very healthy for the relationship. I stay in the garage with my guns, gin and cigars, and she doesn't break my... It's a beaudiful ting as we said in Jersey.
