a quality sporter/hunter SSP (single stroke pneumatic) pistol
and carbine came on the scene I'd sure include them in my
'airsenal'.
Think I'm done with CO2, PCP, pumpers (MSP) and rammers (gas-ram).
I've did enough messing around with those guns and don't really
want to do anymore. That's me - of course you can mess with them
as long as you like.
Probably a quality - that's quality as in real decent - hunter/
sporter SSP pistol and carbine/rifle won't ever come on the scene
because PCP has mesmerised, Pied Pipered sooooo many hardcore
airgunners or folks that'll spend some bigger bucks on airguns.
To me PCP is like hopped up CO2 that can handle/hang in cold
weather. Both kinda bore me. That's me - of course that doesn't
mean you should be bored too or must be bored too.
Pumper - man all that flapping the lever a bunch of times for one
shot just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Loved it in boyhood.
Gas-ram - gas shocks on my car is cool but don't care much for
them in my airguns.
I'll take a 600 series FWB if you want to talk creme of the crop. The IZH46M is about as close as you can get to the pistol and still be labeled affordable. The P3 is another, as is the Beeman P2. Webley had a nice ssp pistol if you can find one.
As far as the ssp rifle, I'll stick to an older match version and wait until the right one comes around. That Diana 75 has spoiled me.
But even a Daisy 953 ssp can be had for under a hundred bucks. Move to one of the higher model Daisy ssp's and they list them with WALTHER barrels! Get y'self a Daisy and enjoy.
