Ok, Recently, about a week ago, I told you I was going to place an ad in the paper for old guns. Some of you scoffed at the idea, some thought it was a good idea. Well, I will keep you up to date. Ok, so far I have received on average, 1 call back a day for the past week. Most have been about junk guns. One call for a Daisy powerline, one call for a used bb pistol, etc. I now will be looking at a old crossman break barrel from a man that is sick and going into the hospital.(if I can get back to him. He says it is about 20 or mores years old, which means it could be a Diana, or a Anchutz. Worth the ride to his house, as he only wants $15.00
Turned down a 2 year old Mendoza at $125.00. Now tommorrow I will look at a HW 30. The guy wants $175.00. I told him that was way too high and he said come over and lets negotiate. so I will do that tomorrow and let you know. Anyway, it has been interesting to hear the calls. It is like fishing, could hit a big one any day.

Good Point

The fact is, if it is in good condition we are really close on price and he may even get the $175.00. It is just a coincident that I was really looking to get a B7, if fact I just mentioned that to Harry the other day. Like I said, we will have to see.

HW30 Input

Dave

HW30's came in two types, the one with the Rekord (adjustable) trigger labeled the HW30s

and the standard version just labled the HW30 which has the Perfekt (non adjustable) trigger.

You can tell reall quickly because the Rekord has an aluminum blade while the Perfect has a sheetmetal blade.

Even if the one you're looking at has the Pefekt, it can still be made to shoot very well.

Here's a link to see what it looks like

Thanks Marcelo

I actually had it in my day planner to call you about this gun this evening, as we just spoke about it yesterday. I looked the gun up in the blue book, but it did not help much, except for the fact that he has a Monty Carlo Stock. He also said, he believed that the gun was purchased in Germany? Does this make a difference? Thanks for the info, and I will look at the pictures in more detail late this evening.

Thanks
Dave

Montecarlo Stocks

on HW30's usually (but not always) mean it has the Rekord (s) trigger.

If the gun is in good shape (blue wise), I would buy it in a heartbeat. You can always refinish the wood if there aren't any serious gouges or cracks and the internals can be changed out which they should be anyway.

Just make sure the gun was never snapped (trigger pulled while the barrel was down). Sometimes that happens and the barrel may be bent upwards. You can usually tell. Even that's not that bad, I've straightened a few for friends.
