Hello,

First, I must tell you I'm french so please don't take care of my bad english, I didn't practice since I was at school !

I'm the owner of two Diana airguns, one model 52 and one model 34 both are in .177

(I've got a Diana 5 G pistol, a Weihrauch HW40 and a Weihrauch HW30s too !)

In France, we don't use tune kits and I want to try a Maccari kit on one of my two Dianas but I don't know which one !!!

On which model do you think the difference is more important between the original spring and a maccari kit ?

Do you think I must take a piston seal with the kit or it's the same as the original one ?

I thank you for your answers and apologize for my english !

Jérôme from France

let the senior airgun experts answer your questions, should not be difficult. unfortunatly my area of expertise is in .22 and not .177

Maccari kits are the best in the USA and no doubt in the world, the way I see it is that there is a FPS, joule limitation in Europe and you would have to get the right Maccari kit for your airguns so that they are legal in France. Over here in the USA we can go as far as we want in FPS or joules in an airgun

very good English Jerome, I wish I learned French when I was in Verdun, was only 6 years old and in an American school

warren

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"

Thank you but you don't really answer to my questions !!!

In France, we can use airguns under 10 Joules freely and over 10 J with a licence. My 52 and my 34 are full power (25 J and 20 J). I want to tune one of them but I don't know if the difference is more important with the 34 or the 52. If I'm pleased with the kit, I will perhaps buy an other one for the other gun !

If you are allowed full power airguns,I recommend Jim's GRT kits. They are fabulous.
For the very best advice on Maccari kits, ask the man himself.Jim Maccari is at www.airrifleheadquarters.com
Thanks,
Lewis

Thanks Lewis,

I send a mail to Jim Maccari and he answered that I should buy a kit for the better rifle so the model 52.

That's why I do. I ordered a GRT 48-52 kit with a piston seal and some heavy tar to put on my other airguns (it's difficult to find it in France !)

Best regards

Jérôme
