Do you know why they are swamped or busy? Because they are the retail side of
http://www.precisionairgun.com/.
Precision Airgun Distribution is the SOLE DISTRIBUTOR of JSB pellets, Daystate & BSA guns and a couple of others. They have the wholesale business in the back, and the retail business in the front which AirgunsofArizona. Similar to Umarex that sells both wholesale & retail through their web site.
I 've called them a few times because I 've placed orders with them and every time they were out of stock of something so that held up the whole order. I ended up cancelling the order every time after having waited about a month or so for them to get the stuff in. Their web site doesn't always say what's out of stock. I got tired of waiting. That was 2 orders I cancelled but I don't have really have anything bad to say about them. They always answered the phone even though sometimes it rang 20-30 times, and they were curtious and polite. I think there is only a couple of people there because the same 2 guys kept answering the phone and they 're probably the owners.
One thing I don't like is the monopoly of airgun distribution, ie: wholesalers in the US.
Why do we have to have only 1 RWS distributor like Umarex, and a single JSB pellet distributor in the entire country like AGD, etc? Manufacturers should try and have 2 if the country is big enough to support 2 of them. The US surely qualifies as a large capitalistic country.. This way the manufacturer ensures that pricing does not get out of hand when there is some competition. Do you know that in other forums people from Australia, Africa, Asia, etc. say that JSB Exact Express & Jumbos are $4-5 for a tin of 500? And we pay almost 3X that here! Why? because there is only 1 distributor and he can name his price. It's a monopoly. Do you think the labor is high in Czechoslovakia where they make the JSB pellets out in the country hills somewhere as in the pics in their web site? It's not like they own expensive realestate in the middle of a city. It's a family business and a small operation. All they make is pellets and nothing else. Why do we have to pay so much? The only answer is Airgun Precision - the sole US distributor is greety.
Shipping costs to Australia are a lot higher than to ship the pellets to the USA. But Australians enjoy paying $4-5 for a tin of 500 JSB's! I doubt there is any Duty tax or Tariffs AGD or JSB has to pay to import pellets into the US. Airgun ammo is not regulated like automobiles and Tabacco. Anyway, enough venting about "exclusive distributors" in this country.. Good luck with your order Dave. Let us know how it turns out.
