Really enjoyed the 24c .177 and 24 .22 I cut down to carbine
but thought how much sweeter it'd be if slightly heavier and
with a few more FPE.

Sure like to see the 28s imported!

No dis - I'm just not interested in a HW30s nor HW50s.

I could relate also

February 28 2008, 9:56 AM

Sure like the mid range Springers I am partial to all of them.
like my HW stable as well as cherished 25 and 27. But a bit more ooomph would be ideal.
So how do we go about doing a Group buy?
How many committed souls would join the fray?
How many rifles would Umarex need to import to make it worth their while?
Could we get a canuk dealer to order some?
Lets try to talk to the Dak in Canada(they bought out Illingsworth)and they welcome special orders. They don't carry
Diana but We might be able to convince him.

What say you piston power pushers

You just missed a 26 used at AOA

That's the one I asked about. Had it been a 28, I might have picked it up. Really want a nice, mid-powered gun? Find a 35 or Winchester 435.

What, me worry???

"someone* at Umarex

February 28 2008, 1:29 PM

acknowledged some 28's as well as the .25 48/52's had been ordered . The .25's are the hold  up as they are a special run and subject to production time availability . You'd think subbing in a barrel would be an easy job when all the other parts are the same . Must really create chaos .

I've got my fingers crossed (and a very few precious $'s) set aside .

Funny about the .25's

February 28 2008, 1:45 PM

Brad has a good write-up on just that gun and he states he got it at some kind of clearance or super sale price. 25's aren't all that popular, so I'm surprised they would be stocking them. I would also like to see that 48SL with the barrel weight, maybe in .22. Would REALLY like to see one in .20! The 28 sounds nice. I imagine it's like a 38?

So chop a 35?

February 28 2008, 6:32 PM

The 35 is a very nice mannered mid-power springer that would take to a barrel cut. Mine does 700+ in .177 and is pretty gentle. It is long in stock form though so a cut of 2-3 inches in barrel length might get it to where you'd want it Herb. Mine is a Hy-Score varient.

"but I'll be needin' that gun, fer squirrels and such."

Thanks for the pic/tip Bill -

man that 35 would be keen in karbine!

I really enjoy shooting the very potent springers - like the
challenge to shoot 'em accurately and the results, the power.
After shooting the magnums a mild springer is almost blissful,
is like a peaceful relaxing vacation from hard work yet work
one enjoys. To have just enough power to knock a squirrel out
of the top of a tall tree with a well placed shot is nice too.
Mild springers with a bit of a 'sting' are a useful 'tool' to
have in one's hunting/pesting "toolbox".

Turn my 24 into a 26?

February 29 2008, 5:58 PM

Hey Herb, to quote you,"blissfull,,hunting/pesting toolbox". My newly added (to collection) 24 is the most fun I have had w/my airguns in quite some time. I LOVE it! Im having it tuned & was wondering,,do you think I should ask the tuner to try for 600 fps. (7.9 gr.)? Or leave it at current 550? Some tuners get touchy about reqests for power up tunes from chrony junkies (like I used to be). Its just that if my 24 was in the 600fps. range it would be what I would consider nearly the perfect little gun! I know it sounds like Im slipping back to my "power hungry ways" ,but, thats not the case, we are only talking about 5-6 ft. lbs.. If I had more exp. w/cutting springs, I would tinker w/ a J.M. R-7 spring myself,,but I dont &wont disect a Diana yet! (Ill tear down, tune, destroy ) my china "clunkers" in a blink of an eye! My Diana,s?? I think not, they go to the Masters! Good Shootin Herb,Tim.
