There goes fricking Crosman again trying to rip us off with some ass cheap Crosman Pointed pellets instead of the real CP domed!
I 'm calling P/A and asking them to replace these boxes with domed ones asap. This is bullcrap! The skirts are not even the same. The skirts are longer like the metal base of the pellet inside the skirt is deeper than in a CP, and they are truly POINTED pellets. Could not be pointier!! More than a Kodiak.
Did anyone else get CP stamped Jan '08, die#7? Now wonder everyone is complaining about these crappy pellets. They are not CP's!

Rick. Guys on the Yellow forum are saying that P/A makes you send them in to Crosman and then it takes a long time to get them back, and even then you 'll get undersized or the wrong kind. I want P/A to replace them. We 'll see..

Harry, I am not quite following you. You recieved a cardboard box of dombed pellets, stamped on the box as "Dombed" but when you open the box pointed pellets are in the box? I think if that is the case, you need to call crosman. If you do, ask them why they never rsponded with the e-mail to me, about the inferior Lot#7. They told me they were going to do this.
Only 1 kind of pellet comes in a cardboard box and that's the CP domed. That's what I ordered: CP's.
Both CP cardboard boxes arrived filled 100% with .22 pointed pellets.
I don't want to deal with Crosman. PA asked for a picture of the pointed pellets and said a supervisor will get back to me tomorrow or in 2 days. I told them someone better get back to me tomorrow or I 'll be calling them to speak to the supervisor. I made it clear I want 2 replacement boxes after someone there has checked them before they ship them.
Does anyone else have CP's stamped: Jan 09 2008? That's the boxes the pointed pellets came in.
These are also stamped die#7.

Folks, the best value for money are the genuine Diana pellets, all well sorted and not bad replica's or very wide specs in production ! You can do a simple test with a micrometer at home and compare them with other brands, you will mention a serious difference ! Kind regards from J.W.
I have a box of CP's .22 Die#7 from Jan 02,2008 and they look ok. I also have a box from Sep 28,2007 and they look the same. Maby they just made a mistake at the factory, and Im sure they will make good onit.
It just occured to me. This was my 4th order from P/A in a row where something went wrong again!!
There must be something about PA and me.. weird. Why can't I have a normal order with no issues from PA? Very strange. I know this isn't their fault but I would like to see just 1 order to completion with PA without any issues.

Harry, I have been down this road before. But since they are almost a monopoly I keep going back. I have a order that has been on hold with them for a month, same ole crap. You wait and wait and each week it gets put back a week. Ok, I have learned to live with it. However, yesterday I called and asked to speak to a customer service rep. I said Hey, my order that has been on hold is scheduled to go out tomorrow. WILL IT REALLY GO OUT? She puts me on Hold, comes back and say's yes. I had the opportunity to buy from someone else yesterday, but since She said the order will be shipped tomorrow I declined. Guess what, I logged to check my order today and GUESS WHAT? the order is delayed until the 28th. Ha Ha Ha. I should have known. They lied. How could they not know that the rifle was not even in the warehouse house yet? They did not even check.
Harry, the bottom line is the fact that they can afford to have crap service. The really just do not have the competition. And quess what Harry, you can't do a damn thing about it!
I just did a price comparison with Pa and Cobra. On a 850 the price is $235 and free shipping Pa. and 245 plus 11 shipping Cobra BUT YOU GET A FREE HARD CASE! I'll go with the hard case. Somtimes I get the faster shipping anyway.
Thanks!

"SHOOT STRAIGHT YOU BASTARDS! DON'T MAKE A MESS OF IT'!
I know everyone says Pyramid Air is the largest distributor but things they are a changin'. Straightshooters is literally on the other side of town from me and their service is excellent. They will be carrying the HW line here soon. Also, Gary Steel of B&B Supply (320-724-5230) is in Minneapolis and if you explain what's been happening, he'll completely understand and he'd more than likely open those boxes just to be sure you got what you ordered before he would send that stuff to you. I'd bet on it because he hates poor service. Just tell him what happened and he'll understand. The only reason he might not check is if he's real busy that day but he's the type who hates poor service to the customer. Guy runs an actual airgun Store. Not only internet. Will rebuild anything he can get parts for.
Ok, there's a third option: Compasseco. These guys really are the largest in that they handle many lines and most of them are in the ballpark of what people just getting into the sport of airgunning would see as more reasonable cost. They carry a lot of pellets and they're good for their word. You just don't hear about problems from Compasseco very often. Been around a long time and know how to run a successful company.
I would strongly consider the three mentioned. There are options. Sometimes its easy to forget we have them. Hope your day has improved by the way.
Harry S
I have a box of cp's stapmed exactly like yours and purchased about a week ago.
I inspected the contents (not one by one but in bulk), My cursory inspection did not find any bad or "pointed" pellets. I think mebe you just got a box that some knucklehead at the plant screwed up.
thanks Cthruth. Now we know that Jan.8 '08 boxes are good. Jan.9 '08 are crap. Good to know. Everyone write this down!
Harv:
I ordered from PA to save a few bucks. Noone gives you the 4th tin free plus I used the 10% discount coupon. I saved $20 in a relatively small order. If you know of anyone else with similar discounts please let us know. It's really not PA's fault in this case. It's just bad luck and of course because of Crosman's nox-existent QC. Like I said, Crosman is just busy counting the money $$. I wouldn't doubt if they outsourced (domestically) or offshored much of the pellet manufacturing too. Nowhere on the box does it say "made in USA" or anywhere else. I 'm sure they are following the Corporate trend which is to outsource as much work as possible and employe a small # of people so they don't have to pay benefits. My company went from 90k employees in '02 to under 60K in '07. Most of the RIF's (Reduction In Force is the new term) occured through outsourcing and offshoring. And the new term executives are using for offshoring is: "Global Leveraging".
I doubt the customer service people (helpdesk) are even Crosman employees. Noone operates a call center in-house anymore. It's all outsourced. Pretty soon you 'll have Indians answering the phones for Crosman. I 'm sure a lot of the manufacturing is being outsourced as well. That would explain everything. There are always problems during the first and even 2nd year of an outsourcing/offshoring transition or initiative a company goes through. Once the outsource or offshore partners had time to work things out, you start seeing improvements.

Harry and everyone else on this forum.
Josh from Crosman Co.is looking for people with pellet problems.I have included the link to the Yellow forum to tell him the problems you are experenceing with the Crosman pellets. It seems they do care about QC and want to remedy the problems everyone is having.
Maybe some good will come of it and we will start getting CR pellets like yester year.Good quailty, clean and uniform
it's been going on for years now! Hardcore airgunning guys
don't trip on the guns because they bought them to tweak,
mod till they aren't much Crosman anymore. The pellets
can't be tweaked, modded so folks just send them back and
when Crosman gives them an extra 'cookie' to go with their
milk they post how wonderful Crosman is for doing that! LOL
Their customer service is the worse. After I sent them pics of a few pellets as they requested, they contact me today Thur. to ask me for pictures of the entire box for both boxes, showing all the pellets. Like I 'm lying to them? So I took a few more close ups and sent them back. I waited about 45min. and called back and asked the rep. to look at my e-mail to make sure that's what they wanted. She said she 'll forward them to her supervisor and someone will contact me tomorrow. I said why do we have to drag this out like this. It's a simple matter. Send me the pellets I ordered and take these back. You will then see them and enjoy them once you have them back. What if I didn't have a digital camera or they hadn't been invented. Why does it have to take this long to make a decision? She says that's their policy and their supervisor is really busy. I said with what? She 's up to her neck with customer issues? No she has other duties as well she says. Well is she a customer service supvsr, I asked? "Yes she is". Well then I said her primary concerns should be to work on escalation customer issues and take care of problems quickly as well as talk to the customers that are not happy and I 'm not happy right now. "Oh well she 's busy now but she or I will call you tomorrow afternoon.. blah blah blah". I don't see what other duties this person would have excpet maybe write up others' performance review. I was a customer service supervisor a long time ago and my priority was to talk to irate customers and call them back. The P/A supervisor hides behind the reps and this "will get back to you in a couple od days" response is getting pretty old and I hate it. That's NOT customer service. Customer service means getting your problem resolved now or quickly when you call with an issue. They really suck!!
