Another thing that cracks me up is when a fella opens the
box spends 10 minutes with a gun and then gives us all a
1000 word review. Then a bunch of others respond "sounds
like a great gun" or the opposite. I suppose if most of
us were for sure going to immediately die 10 minutes after
we got the same brand/model gun it would be great or crap
for a tiny little while. LOL
Aside from accuracy I desire a gun that is going to stand
up to a lot of use and not be hassling me often with various
little to bigger problems. It's gotta be reliable, 'solid'!
If Diana comes out with a $179.95 PCP rifle I'll pass! If
it sounds to good to be true...... LOL
Ok Pumping up sheridan i understand it gets pumppy, yes pcp you need to pump pump 100 times. Once its done your good to go. The c02 850 looks interesting but if its anything like old pistol c02s as a kid there wack. I guess i should buy all of them but dont have room. Im looking forward to the discovery still on the list. I still will own my rws, gamo, sheridan, crosman guns. i may have to add beeman r9,r7 to the list.
Compressed air wouldn't produce a ball of smoke from the muzzel.
Herb, we get it. You don't like the Discovery because it doesn't cost enough. Let it go please. This is getting old and it isn't even funny. Why can't you post something though provoking or useful instead of always trying to fan the flames and start trouble? People who got their guns are excited and giving folks their first impressions. We know the gun hasn't been out long enough for a long term report. Let them have their fun and shut the #$!@ up for once. Why you always have to rain on everyones parade? Cheesh.
"but I'll be needin' that gun, fer squirrels and such."
Bill, I will never forget the day I caught my first trout while camping with my family under the Tonto Rim mountains in Arizona. I had fished this little creek all week and not caught nothing. Then, bingo I caught a trout, I screamed like crazy! The whole camp ground thought I was being attacked by a bear!
I guess I made quite a fool out of myself that day!. But so what? It WAS A GREAT DAY! I see the post of some kid that just bought his first crosman and he explodes on the computer about what a great gun he has! Man! that is so great! I am so happy for him.
The other day, I went to see about a old gun for sale. I have a ad posted in the paper for old air guns. Some old lady had a old Marksman pellet gun for sale, circa 1950 along with a tin of pellets stamped $.47 cents. I sat with her, as she reminisced about the day's her husband would take his collection of guns and spread them out on the floor and just admire them, and take pictures of them. She said that he really loved his guns, and how she really missed him.
Bill,I do not care how fast my gun is or how smooth it is. Fun yes, but there must be something else.
I think we all know the answer. Airguns are just things!
