Stocks

February 22 2008, 7:30 PM

Does anyone know the history of the Diana 75 stocks? It seems there are numerous variations. The ones pictured here have "finger grooves" on the fore end. Mine do not. These have a fore end that angles backward at the very front. I have one that does that but doesn't have finger grooves. On my other two, the front of the fore end is rounded. Also the stippling is different on mine. It doesn't wrap all the way around the stock. Two of mine have adjustable cheek pieces and one does not but they all have adjustable butts. Were these guns avaliable to order with different style stocks or are they made a particular way for a particuler shooting discipline?

Match rifles.

February 23 2008, 12:06 PM

Dear Sir, the 75 is meant for MATCH shooting what is super popular in Europe. Distances for this discipline are 10 meters and 12.5 meters and there are national contests. Seems a small distance but try to shoot ( without rest ) 5 pellets on a distance form 12 meters ( 13.63 yards ) in a circle smaller than the middle of "a Diana seal" ? In all European country's there are these contests but Germany is together with Switserland the leading country. Nice 75's you have on the picture, I will find out the different stock styles an let you know which serienumbers have the different stocks. Best regards from Johannis.

In production order

February 24 2008, 3:26 AM

Mod. 75, Mod. 75 TO1, Mod. 75 TO1 HV, Mod. 75 TO1 K, Mod 75 TO1 U, Mod. 75 TO1 S, Mod. 75 TO1 B

So That's 7 variations, but there are a few odd sub variants as most match guns evolved on the production floor. There were also 4 variations of sights that went with those.

Thanks Tim, Johannis and Heywood

Thanks for the info. These are beautiful guns, and man what a great trigger! The ones I have are in bad condition (but the price was right, free) so I am in the process of refurbishing them. I'm almost done with the first one and can't wait to shoot it. I'd like to give the ten meter game a try. No doubt about it, it's a challenge, but I like the precision part of it. Thanks again.

Bud, those are gorgeous!!!

Something about a Diana 75. I know how people love the 300s but the only and I mean only rifle that could get me to push aside my 75 is an ssp FWB 602/03. As you well know, they are That Good.

But I wouldn't sell my HW55 either lol.

Harv
