I picked up this rifle the other day, and have been shooting it for about 350 pellets. It is a tuned Hw 30 from Marcel Zapatero. It is the finest gun I can ever remember shooting. It has quickly advanced to the top of the line in the guns I like to shoot. It is a real experience to shoot something as smooth as this gun. All over the internet you will see post about the Beeman R7, and the HW 30. Rarely do you see them for sale. No wonder!
Hate to show my age, but it reminds me of the day, I drove my Dad's new Chevy impala, with "POWER STEERING'.

Oh, yea, he is for real all right. Tim, congrats on your 24, When you get yours tuned you will know what Iam talking about. He is going to tune my 34. which is firing way too fast, and hard.

Here are some of Marcelo;s rifles.

Good shooting!

Tim, tone it down a lot before we lose one of the best around, eh? I appreciate your enthusiasm but balance it. I would ask that before you make comments like that, especially about some of the guys tuning who really know their stuff, do a few searches and concentrate some of those searches on the airgun forums. Some of the best tuners are relatively unknown to the majority of airgunners for a reason. They don't do it for the money, they do it because they love airgunning and they have great skills at this stuff.

I've heard of some airgun guys who spend time lurking the forums and never post a word. Yet these guys could set an airgun up in ways that lack for words. They don't have to touch anyone elses airguns if they don't want to but they've got a reputation among the few they respect that they've set airguns up for.

Airgun tuning is not some tradable commodity like a service at a big box store. This is a very specialized sport/hobby. Sure, tuning isn't rocket science but I'd like to see the average airgunner try to match what guys like Marcelo do.

I think Tim made an honest mistake

February 16 2008, 10:03 AM

Lots of chatter on this forum lately that was not only off-topic, but over-the-top in terms of fantasy names and features for certain guns. I don't think he meant any harm - he was just trying to sort through all the bull that's been posted.

"but I'll be needin' that gun, fer squirrels and such."

Point taken, Bill. I hope Tim takes what I wrote in the vein I intended. Just to tone it back a bit. I understand where he's coming from especially due to the conditions you mentioned.

I do not know you but have seen your posts, good info on all

Seems like you MIS understood Tim, because you do not frequent this site a lot and do not understand what Tim meant

there was in no way, shape or form anything Tim wrote to displease you personally, he just asked a question to Dave. you my friend are reading WAY to much in Tim's post. he did not offend you in any way

THINK STRAIGHT, part of your signature. then think about what I wrote to you a little more

warren

PS:

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"

Boy do I feel BAD!! I did not mean anything negative at all. After reading replys just now I am feeling HORIBLE! I swear I did not mean to "stir" anything up. Bill S thanks for your post. Marcelo Z. PLEASE accept my sincere apology. I had not heard your name before, And thought maybe post was a "joke". Obviously, you are "for real" a VERY tallented airgunsmith. I would NEVER intentionally insult anyone here. I went from a great emotional high (new 24!) to a super emotional low, (came in to post about my 24,but read this first). Bill S, said it well,, Im so sorry guys,,PLEASE fogive me. Tim.

Don't know much about?

February 16 2008, 5:25 PM

How about a old song?

"Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about a science book
Don't know much about the French I took"

Don't know much about Air gunning
don't no much about tune-aning

Hey, if I had a drink with Pablo Pacasso years ago, and he offered to give me the "Les Noces de Pierrette" I would not had a clue what the hell this masterpiece was. I had the opportunity to walk into the life and room of a artist recently. I had never known who was Marcel Zapatoro, one year ago. How could I. I had never even fired a simple pellet gun, much less knew it's art.

The room of the artist, is beyond words. It really defines the man. I will not try to describe it now. I really do not have the words. I will say this. Marcelo Zapatero, is a artist, or more sincerely, a craftsman. But even more, is the fact that he is a honest man. It is defined in his work.

Forget the guns! Marcelo;s guns, are nothing but an extension of the a man. When you meet him you know that he has the heart of gold! His work speaks of nothing but pure honesty, and a love of a gift given to him by God. He will welcome everyone of us into his little studio of guns! I now have many friends on this forum. Tim, Harry, Dave (ZVP) Bill, Warren, Herb, ETC, ETC, ETC,

I know nothing about air guns, but I do know something about people. Marcelo, would not have a beater day in his life! then if we ALL met at his studio and shot guns and had a few gins. God Bless!

Good Shooting!
