I am replacing the seal on my rws34 and not sure if the seal is seated correctly on the piston. Looking at the face of the seal installed on the piston should it be flushed with the center post on the piston? I have about a 1/16" from the top of the seal to the face of the post. Any comments would be a big help!

Thanks

The seal face should extend past the wedge-shaped center post, as yours does. If if didn't, you would get metal-on-metal at the end of the stroke.

At the end of the short stroke after rebounding....

off the cushion of compressed air - that's if one hasn't "dry-fired"
or shot the gun without a pellet or with a very light and/or loose
pellet and/or a potentially damaging violent dieselling occurs.

Of course it's good to have some piston seal cushioning, dampening
at the end of the short stroke rather than metal on metal. Even
with a full stroke slam it'd still be better than metal on metal
contact.
