I am highly offended by his or her post and would like to express my deepest condolences to those of you with children who may read this horrible post.
Please try to explain to them that this person is a mentally disturbed person who needs professional help as soon as possible.
And remind you young ones that 99% of Airgunners do not agree or condone this type of behavior.

someone asked this already; this what I wrote on his post

I agree March 2 2008, 5:12 AM

Johannis

this one fell through the cracks, it only shows immaturity and lack of responsability from the authors part. anything with "Kill and Torture" is not proper in any way, form or shape and should be deleted

which brings me to the next part; some people post comments or type threads into this forum without thinking about the consequences, remember MANY people come and read these it is not only those that login but guests too and in this internet world what you write stays FOREVER it can be read by many and stay in archives for a very long time

I try not to post anything I will regret later, just my .2 cents

warren

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"

Re: Robert

I've never seen a post like his. Rather than be smooth about it this guy just comes
in and throws it all down. Usually a troll will work his way up to a certain point
but, this guy just starts off balls first. This person clearly has an agenda.
Hopefully nobody else responds to his post and just ignores him.

Protest to post [I like to kill and torture]

March 2 2008, 8:30 AM

To administrator/moderator of the Diana collective,
Where are you? Why is that trash post allowed to stay up and why is the poster of that post not banned? The air gun community doesn't need crap like that there is enough bad press against all kinds of guns and shooting sports including air guns.PLEASE DELETE THAT POST AND BAN THE POSTER!!!
Woody

Not unusual post on forums

March 2 2008, 8:40 AM

These forums are pretty much open to the public, so you get the oddball post. If you don't think so, check out Brad's classifieds. They pop up there all the time, such as the multiple, vulgar Viagra posts from a couple days back.

Best thing is to A) Lock them down, if possible and B) delete ASAP. What these guys want to see are the responses.

A few questions about this forum

March 2 2008, 9:01 AM

Sorry about this second post, but this forum seems to have less features than some others I belong to. Apparently, there is no edit function once you've posted.

Can the administrator lock down strings? They do on the Yellow, which is an N54 site. They can also delete strings. That's a pretty common control on about every internet site (due to strings like the ugly one, below). I know that, on the other forums, the moderator would be on this from the git go.

In the event of another post like that, maybe the best thing is to add a new post telling other users not to respond. Won't be long before the offensive post is buried. Hopefully, the poster then will lose interest.

easy there..

March 2 2008, 9:22 AM

Dave (ZVP) is a volunteer and checks the forum when he can. This is not his full-time job.

I think it would beneficial to all if ZVP can give 2-3 people admin rights and make them forum moderators to help out and delegate the duties of screening posts and keeping the peace. It's not easy, I managed a very large bulletin board for 6yrs at Prodigy where there were constant fights and profanity, and that was only a small part of my job. So bfore you rush to volunteer, if Dave decides to go that route, take your time to think about it because you 'd be taking on a lot of responsibility besides just a role/title. You need to be fair and objective and be prepared to possibly make some enemies because not everyone might share the inclination of removing a post or banning someone all the time.

Sorry if I stepped on some toes

March 2 2008, 9:39 AM

My apologies. I'm so used to one or two forums where they're on you before the smoke clears that I tend to forget that others are on a volunteer, time available basis. I do think that the idea of limited locking/deleting rights for a few would help. This could be reviewed on a case by case basis to prevent abuse. Seen it used before and it does help.

Nothing worse than a troll stirring things up. I was a member of one now-defunct but excellent rimfire forum that was tied up in knots and armed camps for about a month as a result of such a creature.

I was appointed as a moderator at my other favorite site just this morning, while I feel truly honerd,I am in no way shape or form up to the task! As far as here at Diana Werks,I can think of quite a few of you that seems to me are exellent candidates & would perform admirably! I am all for it, as we dont need posts from anymore truely "wacked" "sicko,s". Tim.

I dropped it.

March 2 2008, 10:08 AM

I catch those when I can.

Like all of you, I have a life too and don't check in every day. Got Family ,other intrests, and health issues. I try and check this place daily but often outside life takes precidence over proofreading here.

Best to ignore these sorts as was suggested. These  guys are just trying to get a raise out of anybody who'll bite. If you see another, look at it, put a wish of some real bad Ju-Ju to his/hers and everything in their miserable life then just go on to the next REAL airgunners post, OK?

I'm also a Ham Radio operator. Heck if you think these freaks are a bother, picture one with a transmitter in his hand...LOL! We simply ignore em. The trouble here is the smut remains till deleted.

Hey we're all here for the enjoyment of the sport/hobby of airgunning and the nuts who sometimes get on the board and spread their fecies about are a problem and I have a "Little Button" for em!

I apologize for taking a while to dump this guy.

 Be safe,

 ZVP

See what happens if you don't know what your kids are doing. I'm sure this person will be suprised when the owner of the ISP address gets a visit from the provider regarding the message that was posted. No internet access, no phone, no cable, no Nintendo, no friends, no BB gun, ... Oh wait,.. I'm recalling my upbringing, this kid probably has NO PARENTS or at least a responsible adult in their life. Oh well, soon he or she will have a Probation Officer, or later a Parole Officer.

A bit too articulate to be a wee laddy buck, me thinks. Mr. Moderator, absolutely no need for an aopology.

I think it would help if the site required registration before being able to post.
