ive been really considering peeps for my new 52...
i think the beeman/williams/mendoza unit is what ill go with....but what are the options for my front sight?....i have that large "module" on my gun....is there a way to go to a ghost sight in the front, or a post and dot?...please help! i love my new rifle..but am at odds slightly with the stock sight, altho it groups ok
I agree these plastic front sights sure look ungainly,
and apear to obscure the target at given ranges
So you want a different front sight.
I would recommend you first get your peep sight and shoot the rifle with the existing front for a while. before surgery.
In my humble experience I have found that the ungainly blob
takes on a more pleasing appearence by adding 10-12" of sight radius.
Get the Beeman peep you will be happier in the long run.unless you need an expensive diopter. Nothing wrong with any other brand but The Beeman has a good track record and is an elegant
and compact rear sight.
Report back and tell us how you like it.
If that won't work then well talk about surgery.
yeah, i think that may be the best idea....hold on till i get the peep...its a shame, that front sight looks terrible (out of place on a nice euro styled gun). i notice it has quite a bit of adjustment, for up and down tweaking. i notice its on a dovetail...maybe i can find something that goes on that, even tho it doesnt solve the ugly problem...ty for the opinion,as well!
wow, i cant believe i havent heard of this one....looks pretty sweet, too! ty james, it sure looks like a solution. i wonder what it has for an insert? has anyone tried this sight, or know about it? would be pretty nice if the inserts were replaceable...
Let us know if you get it and how it works out. If I like the Beeman Aperture on the 350 I might replace the scope on my 52 with one as well as the front sight you are considering. Good luck.
i will definitely be gettin it...just a matter of when...probably next paycheck...i will certainly post my report...i know there are a few who want an easy way to switch totally to peep, front and back...the gun will certainly look much better this way...and i thinbk it will work way better too...if i only knew what the front sight aperture looks like...
