is an excellent gun by CO2 standards and very accurate! It has no recoil which is kind of weird to me being used to the 350 .22. It shoots various 14.x pellets at 603 to 608fps at room temperature so it's at least an 11.5fpe gun out of the factory. With 14.6gr Beeman FTS it's a 12fpe gun. I will be doing the hammer spring modification soon (heavy duty spring to open the valve more) which will make it gain another ~55fps for about 14FPE.
The problem with owning a CO2 gun up here in NY is that when you use it outdoors for hunting in the Fall/Winter, you lose much of the velocity due to the low temps. So I will not be taking this gun out on the field much at all. So far it has proven to be a good hunting gun shooting squirrels from the window of a warm room at 20-25yds. Head/neck shots are easy with a 3-9x32 scope because the gun is very easy to shoot accurately. I would not however recommend attempting quartering or vitals shots with this gun unless you have done the simple hammer spring mod to bring it up to 14fpe and even then I 'd limit varmint hunting of this gun to 30yds. That's just me, because I have noticed the POI drops a lot after 25yds with this gun. I am used to the 350 shooting pretty flat to 35-40yds. Plus I don't want to drop below 8fpe at the time of impact when hunting fur bearing animals. I 'm looking forward to hunting Starlings 35-40yds out though. However they seem to be hanging out at the neighbor's property a lot and not mine. The last time I got a Starling was Sept/October time frame so I doubt they still hold grudges about that 5mos later?

I may have to bait them with some seeds because I think the 850 would be perfect for them to 40yds if I can practice a little more and figure out the holdover.
Good luck with your new Discovery! and happy pumping
