CPLs/CPHs/CPs - sometimes they aren't dirty or dirty enough so I
don't clean them. All my pellets I lube lightly or sparringly with
Slick 50 One Lube. This causes no problem or detonating/bad dieselling
in my springers. Also I see no oxidizing of pellets that I've had for
a few years.
Right now I'd guesstimate I have about 120,000 or so pellets. Don't
want to run out! LOL
I think he's asking about felt cleaning pellets for bore cleaning.... I don't use'em, but if I did, I'd load a couple and back'em up with a real pellet, to avoid dryfire!
Ray just put in 3 felt pellets like the directions tell you to and there will be no problem .That is what they are made for. It does not need to be done very often . There is no powder but if the pellets are a tight fit you can get a lead build up in the rifling with softer pellets like crosmans. When I do it i will wet the first two with oil and the last one dry all in the brich at the same time. Hey Herb, My sintaments exactly. Not in springers! Too much like a dry fire. Very detrimental to the health of springers. Most experts will advise you dont need to clean brl. of airguns. For the most part I agree. Some magnums however will shoot above 1000 fps and will lead the brl. Keep it under about 950 & you should not have this accuracy robbing problem. I agree w/ advice from the experts. However I must add my 2 cents: Most all of us store our guns in our homes, A.C. in summer,,heat in winter. Most are stored upright letting dust & other crap filter down into our barrels. Then we grab & go outside to shoot. The huge temp. change alone causes condensation. That leads to rust in our springers that we all know benifit from verry little lube. (barrels). No, Ill continue to clean my brls. the old fasioned way. Shure accuracy suffers for maybe several shots,(fresh cleaned brl),But I know my Brl. is up to the task. Just my 2 cents. Tim.
Well Well Well
I Have them now what to do.
Im going to drill a hole in them and pull them through with fishing string.
I see points from all but i do like the fishing string idea cant get much safer than that. now with that said, who is going to hold felt pellets while i drill them? LOL
Tim, you are so right, guns are not stored they are left to the elements even inside the house to "rust" because of "AC" in summer and "heat" in winter, letting dust filter down the barrel, then we shoot and get disappointed
you must clean the barrel after the season, every 3 months. I use the daylight saving period to change the batteries on smoke protectors, change the clock's time and clean my barrels', to me it is a religious day on these items
warren
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
WARREN, nice comment ! To avoid rust in the barrel I always spray a very little gun oil ( Ballistol ) in the barrel and fire 1 light pellet. The rest of the oil is left in the barrel and that must be enough protection for some days. Is this the right way ? I don't knwo but I have no signs from rust etc. during all the years. After this exercise I can store the rifle with an satisfied idea that my barrel(s) are well protected. Best regards from Johannis.
Do you really think these were made on purpose to damage your gun . Have any of you but any of these in your breach . They fit so tight that there is more resistance with 3 as the manufactor tells you to use than with a real pellet .Marvin
