Here is a tip I picked up from MZ. Super great stuff for protecting guns, knives and as BB said for lubing pellets! Plus it is safe enough to drink. Just got some in yesterday from PA. Fantastic!
Dave, you choose the right product for your air rifles. I already use this for more then 25 years and I am still satisfied. Best is to use it via the small glass bottles. Take care that it's Ballistol Klever then, for wood the best is the BALSIN Stockoil ( bright ) waht you can easily rub with your bare hands. These superb products will keep your rifle always in top condition. One of the good things of the Ballistol gun oil is that it removes lead rests very good from your barrelwall. Best regards from Johannis.
HARRY, I think I owe an explanation: using Ballistol after shooting gives a very nice protective film on the inside of your barrel and will avoid ( for ......% ) that lead rest coming from the pellets during firing a pellet stay behind in the barrel. During all the years ballistol gave me good results in air rifle maintenance, kind regards from Johannis.
Ballistol is well known in Europe. Not so much in the US unless you've got someone in the know lol. It does exactly what its meant to. I have a friend who wipes his wood with the stuff and you can really get a nice even shine out of the grain with it. Unfortunately I bought a ton of Remoil when it was on sale about fifteen years ago. So far with regular application the Remmy stuff is fine too.
Lucked out again. After making a phone call to Ballistol in my former place of residence "Kitty hawk" NC. (about) 60 miles south of vabch, I was informed that 2 gun shops close by carry this great product. Seems they had received another call earlier from the forum from some guy in Iowa.
Great stuff and environmentally safe to use. Forget those harsh chemicals!
For anyone intersted.. I found MidSouth carries 16oz liquid Ballistol for $7.42 and 6oz aerosol @ $5.20.
I think the liquid would last a lot longer. The spray is good for lubing pellets I guess. Not sure how good these prices are so I 'll research a little more.
