The First Sign of Spring

Every year about this time I head out to Minneapolis to the gun show at the fairgrounds. For the last few yeas I've been able to help out at a friend's table.

So what would be fun about an airgunner sitting around watching tables at a gun show?

This friend is an airgunner. Over the years I've been able to own several of the greats through him. Among them, the venerable FWB124, a few Dianas, Anschutz, Webleys and HW rifles. You see, this guy sells airguns at the show. So I get to sit and talk about airguns with people who are interested in them, for several hours. We hang out and bs and laugh and sell all sorts of airguns. Local airgunners are always coming to the show to see his wares and say hello. Girandonis, Giffards. Italian rifles I can't even describe. CO2 rifles by Howa, the company whose made Weatherby rifles over the years. Precharged big bores in .45 and 9 millimeter. The great American multi pumps. Springers from the Eastern bloc and a different era. Even some Chinese airguns. All the best and some of the rest haha.

I don't know if I'll be able to make it down this year. The show is this weekend. But its a right of spring that this time comes and passes. You hear stories of friends finding incredible deals or extremely rare pieces. Its as much a part of the hunt as any game day field excursion. Finding that certain airgun you've been hankering for.

If any of you can make it, look up Ingvar's table at the show this weekend. You might even see me there

James replies:

I think they are one of the best values around in a bolt rifle. I have a .308 that is 1 inch or less at 100 yards. I had a Timney trigger delivered for it today which should take care of the only less than desirable part of the rifle. You would be hard pressed to find a better rifle for the money than the Vanguards with the Howa action.

It sounds like you are having a good time at the booth.
